10 Reasons You Have To Go See Taylor Swift’s 1989 Tour

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for American Express. I received concert tickets and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

Saturday night Bill and I got to be the greatest parents ever. This is one time I totally love the job I get to do.

What did we do Saturday night? We took Madison and her best friend Cadence to Taylor Swift's concert here in Chicago. This was also their first concert ever! It was also Bill's birthday.

We came up with a list of why you too need to go see Taylor Swift!

  1. Amazing opening acts. All 3 acts were great! Vance Joy is very nice on the eyes too. Haim impressed us when they started playing ACDC.2015-07-18 19.19.38 2015-07-18 19.52.56 HDR-1 2015-07-18 20.30.34
  2. You get a really cool bracelet that lights up!2015-07-18 22.25.08Throughout the whole show, they constantly changed colors. It was beautiful to watch.2015-07-18 21.42.11See all the red? That's our bracelets.
  3. Emily Beazley. If you aren't local to Chicago, you may not have heard of her. Emily is a little girl who recently died. She was one of Taylor Swift's biggest fans. Emily Beazley passed away in May at the age of 12 following a public battle with cancer. Two weeks before her death, Emily was granted one of her final big wishes: to talk to her favorite singer Taylor Swift. Taylor invited her to this show and the show in Detroit. Unfortunately, she was unable to make either. Purple and green were her favorite colors and were used to show support for the young girl as she battled a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. One clothing change had Taylor Swift in a purple and green outfit as the stadium also turned purple and green. That is a class act move and I am sure the family of Emily appreciated it. I know as a community we were ecstatic that she called Emily before she passed.
  4. Girl empowerment. Having 2 young girls there myself, I was so happy to hear her lift these girls up. She also talked as if she was talking to each person in the audience. You really did feel like her very best friend.
  5. The crowds. Seriously, you could tell this was the place to be. I can honestly tell you that this was the biggest concert both Bill and I have ever been too.2015-07-18 20.54.32I think she said there was 55,000 people there. Just a few. 😉
  6. The people watching at Taylor Swift concert is awesome. We saw many signs and characters!2015-07-18 21.19.03 2015-07-18 21.19.17

  10. This one of the best family concerts I've ever seen. We saw kids from little all the way up to grandma's. You didn't have to worry about what your kids would see at the show. I find Taylor to a breath of fresh air.

As a rock concert veteran myself, I was impressed. Taylor Swift's 1989 Tour was one of the best concerts I've been to. By far, it was the largest. Taylor kept the audience engaged all night. She played a 2 hour set with many costume changes. During these changes, there was always something to keep your attention.

I was so glad I could spend this special moment with my daughter. That's why I am so excited to tell you that American Express has launched the Amex EveryDay Credit Card to help us make the most of special moments in our lives. With the Amex EveryDay Card, multitaskers (like Moms) are rewarded for everyday purchases—for every 20 transactions a month they’ll receive 20% rewards – with no annual fee.

Influence Central, on behalf of American Express, is giving away two tickets to 7-8 lucky winners to Taylor Swift concerts in various locations throughout the summer! The next EveryDay Summer Concert Giveaway Date and location is the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA on August 22, 2015. Make sure you go an enter for that!

Are you a Taylor Swift fan? Have you been to one of her concerts yet? What do you think you would have loved most at her concert?

I think Taylor Swift is an awesome role model for young girls. I have all boys, so we won’t be seeing her live, but I LOVE a lot of her music.

  2. Jeannette

I really wanted to go to this but with moving, we just couldn’t make it work this time! It looks like such a great concert and I love the wrist bands!

SO JEALOUS! I LOVE Taylor! My weekend was pretty great though – I saw Luke Bryan. No complaints there at all!

My daughter and I saw her concert in June! It was so amazing. She puts on an awesome show and is definitely a great performer.

  6. These are all great reason to see Taylor Swift’s tour, but I only need one. Taylor Swift. She is talented AND adorable.

  7. I would love to see her in concert. Unfortunately, my daughter who used to be a big fan is no longer a fan and I doubt I could get my husband to go. Looks like you had a great time!

  8. Franc Ramon

The show is so cool. Taylor Swift is such a great artist that she’s great on both kids and adults and she has really nice songs.

Way to go TeeTay. I love her and would definitely want to go to one of her concerts. Anybody here belongs to the TeeTay squad?

  11. Taylor Swift seems to be the “in girl” singers these days! I don’t think most people really need any reasons to want to go see here! What great reasons you highlighted! I think tickets to some concerts are pretty expensive, but then again, most of them are a once in a lifetime opportunity!

  12. Mykidsguide

I love Taylor Swift and her music. I would love to watch her live in a concert.

  13. Awesome family event! Taylor Swift is a great person and seems to have her feet planted on the ground. I love her music and I love that she is such a good role model.

  14. Eeeek I’m a huge fan but going to a concert while being highly pregnant isn’t going to happen… Lol I will have to wait for her next tour.

  15. Rebecca Swenor

It looks like an awesome concert and definitely amazing for a first concert. I have not been to a concert in a few years and never have I seen Taylor Swifts concert. I would love to see one some day. Thanks for sharing.

  16. Nickida

I’m not a Taylor Swift fan and my daughter isn’t old enough for her music yet but the concert looked like it was awesome. So glad you had the opportunity to share the memory with your daughter.

  17. HilLesha

Taylor Swift is actually of the top 40 artists that I like. I thought about seeing her in concert recently, but the tickets were crazy expensive for two people. Maybe someday, though! 🙂

  18. Ann Bacciaglia

This would be an amazing show to go and see. I will have to look to see when she will be in my area next. I bet you had an amazing experience. I love her music.

  19. Nikki

She is just adorable! I had a girl who worked for me who was a HUGE fan, I know she’d agree with this list!

  20. Such a talented artist and no wonder so many people were there to support her as well – seems like it was soo awesome!

  21. Gabriel

I think it’s cool when artists are family friendly. I recently saw Volbeat and Anthrax (both metal bands) and Volbeat brought every kid in the audience up on stage with them for one song. Was pretty cool seeing 50 or so kids age 4-15 up on stage at a metal show.
