Happy Mothers Day!!
Let’s see. My morning started with Madison jumping on me tellling me to get up. Her daddy was making his Sunday morning special (french toast). It actually didn’t rain today, so he finally made it outside and mowed the lawn. Then we went to Grandma’s and spent the day over there. Bill got me a card from Madison. That’s it. And for Bill, that’s good. I usually don’t even get a card. When he does good, it usually does good. When he does bad, I don’t get anything at all, so I can’t be too picky. As I am typing this though, my wrist is breaking out in hives. Not good. Now I have to figure out what I touched to cause it.
I finally finished Madison’s new bedroom. Hopefully, I can get some new pictures on here with out, so you all can see my hard work. It’s purple. I did a stencil border in the middle of the room and up toward the ceiling also. On the bottom portion of the room, I did paint stamps that were in the shapes of flowers and butterflies. On the top portion, I put up Tinkerbell stickers. It looks great. We moved Madison in there on Friday night, and its been interesting ever since. She’s not liking being in the room alone.
Ok, I’ve gotta go find some Sudafed before I go crazy itching. See ya later.
Be warned. There is some foul language in this post.
I am so mad right now. We just started getting the EOB’s (Explanation of Benefits) from Blue Cross Blue Shield (that would be our health insurance company) from Madison’s er visit and hospital stay. Actually so far, they are just for the emergency room. And they total over $5,000. Just for the emergency room. We haven’t been charged for the hospital stay yet. And from what I can tell we are getting charged for physician services that are out of network. Ok, here’s where I am confused. The hospital is in-network and so is our regular doctor who told us to go to the emergency room. How can I help that the physician we saw in the emergency room is not?!!??? So that isn’t covered. What the hell!?!
I am waiting to actually get a bill and see if they really do charge us for it. If they do, that is bullshit. I am going to be pissed off till we get a bill, and they will be getting an earful. It’s pointless to call now when they haven’t billed us yet cuz it may end up getting written off on their end. We’ll see.
What a nice start to a day, huh?
Well, today was interesting. Madison decided to get up at around 2 am wanting juice and to be rocked. Still not sure why. Wouldn’t go back to bed either. I ended up putting her in bed with Bill and me. And she dozed till Bill had to get up for work. She was not happy about Bill getting up and leaving either. However, she did go potty for him. I also got her to go potty on the toilet once today.
I did get her to take a nap and was able to paint her toyroom a pretty shade of purple.
Bad news though. My part time job is going away. For those of you who don’t know, I was creating websites for a company using their software and programs. Well, they are discontinuing the websites. So therefore my job goes away. Kinda sucks, but what you gonna do. My job allowed us to do a lot of the updates to the house. It also kept us out of the hole each month. Oh well. We’ll figure something out.
Gotto go. House is on.
Tell me that this isn’t the biggest joke you’ve ever heard:
LANSING - On April 26, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives passed two bills which, if signed into law, could have far-reaching implications for the health of AIDS patients, LGBTs, and women.
House Bills 4745 and 4746 “would allow commercial health insurance companies, health maintenance organizations (HMOs), and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan to refuse to offer or provide a health care benefit on ethical, moral, or religious grounds as reflected in their articles of incorporation or bylaws or by an adopted mission statement,” according to the legislative summary of the bills.
In other words, a health insurance company could decide, based on its “morals,” not to provide coverage for such medical conditions as AIDS, hormonal or other treatments required by transgender individuals, contraceptives, or other treatments.
The bills would also exempt insurance companies from lawsuits from patients arising from refusal of coverage under the “morals” exemption.
So if your insurance company doesn’t agree with anything about you, they can deny you coverage. What a freaking joke!!
I thought we were living in 2006 not the 1900s. If this really passes, you know other states are going to try it. One more right down the toilet.
I picked out the paint colors for Madison’s new bedroom. I think we decided on a Tinkerbell theme. Bill’s got issues with princesses and I just can’t see Madison with a pink room. I am going to be using 3 different shades of purple for her room. It’ll be fun. I wanted to start painting tonight, but after taking out all the nails and crap that were in the wall out, we had to spackle it. I now have to wait for it to dry.
I have to go and fill out paperwork tommorrow for a new job I am starting. I will be taste testing and writing an article once a month for the Daily Southtown. Pretty cool.
Madison’s appointment went well on Friday. We found out in the last month that she grew a half an inch and gained two pounds. The doctor is pretty sure that she had the flu.
We finally got the backyard seeded and should have grass in a month.
That was my weekend.
