It is getting to be that time again. I would not be too surprised if we get a call in the next day or two to set up a poker party. Bill and his friends have a rotating schedule, and they all take turns hosting a poker party at their house. It is usually every month or every other month. I have to admit I enjoy it. If Bill loses (which is usually what happens), then he is only out about $15. I would much rather have him here or at someone else’s house than sitting in a bar. Sometimes you end up with overnight guests and sometimes you do not. I would rather have them spend the night than get in an accident on the way home. When it is at your house, it costs you the beer. That is it. Everybody chips in for pizza. It is the easiest and cheapest night out. I have to admit some of these home game packages would come in handy when the guys are over. Like everything else, you can spend as much or as little as you want. I also know Bill would love one of these poker tables. Too bad that we agreed not to buy one another anything this year.
