Am I finally looking my age?

I will be 31 this year (still young enough to disclose my age). I use to always get carded — in a bar, at the grocery store, out at dinner, pretty much any place I tried to by alcohol. I have yet to be carded out here in Arizona. Heck, when I went to Miami, I didn’t get carded either. I must finally be showing my age.

I guess that means I need to start looking for some good skin care products. There are products out there like HD-Illuminating Plasma Crystals which help aging skin, uneven tone, dullness, and fine lines and wrinkles. At this point, I think I only have the uneven tone and dullness, so I’ll happily use a product that will improve that. Who knew skin care products could help all those things? I didn’t plan on looking young forever, but I was hoping to still be carded for the next couple of years.

The best part about these skincare products is if you spent over $100 with Borba, you can get a Clear Skin Sampler kit for free. I love free things for money I was going to spend anyway! I know I am going to check out a few more of their products, so I can get my free kit.

Packing

The weirdest thing is happening right now.  I am blogging, and without me asking, Bill is packing up the suitcases.  I almost fell off the couch in amazement.  I love my husband, but he usually is not this helpful.  It is nice.  I figured I would blog a bit and then pack.  We pretty much have to get up in the morning and leave, so the packing really needs to be done tonight.  He even started the last load of laundry.  I think we need to go on vacation more often.

Oysters

Did you ever wish that Gulf oysters would give something other than a pearl? I know I wouldn’t mind if they would give me some cold hard cash. That would be extremely nice. I’d even take loose change. Instead of a money tree, I could have my own oyster farm. That sounds nice, doesn’t it? I could use that money to fix my leaky basement!

On a more serious note, if you want to learn more about what oysters really do and have (like pearls), you should check out Be Oyster Aware. For example, I learned that oysters are an excellent source of zinc, vitamin B-12, and omega-3 fatty acids. It almost makes me want to try them. They even have a list of oyster recipes!

The site is actually a really good source for information regarding Vibrio vulnificus. Healthy people don’t get this illness. However, if you are an at risk person, you could. How do you know if you are at risk? If you have liver disease, iron overload disease, diabetes, cancer, stomach disorders, or any illness or medical condition that weakens the body’s immune system, you are considered at risk and you should not eat raw oysters. I had no idea that this was even an issue for people, so I am glad to see there are sites out there warning people at risk. I found it extremely informative.

Unfortunately, we hop a plane tomorrow to head home.  We love Arizona.  It is awesome here.  I have a ton of posts I’ll be doing over the next week or so on the stuff we did and saw.  We had a great time here.  However, Madison is needing us home again.  I wish we could have a couple more days here since we are going home to snow!

While in Arizona, we bought a lot of postcards to show Madison where we have been. We have also bought her some of the area books. However, I have been downloading our pictures to the computer (don’t have them on Flickr yet though), and we have a lot of really great photos. You can check out my prior post about the view from our room for the pictures I got a chance to upload at this point. As you can tell, I think we may have some postcard quality pictures. We have been all over the area and to the Grand Canyon, so we have lots of great pictures.

Did you know that you can get some cheap postcards from Vista Print? I am considering do this with some of our best photos. They would hold up much better than just printing them out when we get home. I have also seen some people use these postcards for invitations for parties too. All you have to do is use the code BlogPostcards100 when you check out, and you can get 100 free postcards. Pretty nice, huh? (I am also considering getting some of their other products like their magnets and such and customize them with some of our pictures).
