I think it is important to remember that we weren't always able to vote, and that our ancestors fought hard to give us that right. My grandmother took part in the protests when she was a child (she's no longer with us) and remembered getting the right to vote. When she told me that as a child and I was taken to vote with my Mom every year, I knew the importance of voting. I have passed that down to my daughters. Thank you Lisa for writing this and sharing this information so that we can all re-think how precious our right to vote really is. Everyone needs to take time to vote tomorrow. If anyone has problems voting, all they need to do is make a call to their party's district office and get a ride to the polls. What a timely post.
