Winnie The Pooh Movie

My family and I were lucky enough to be able to see the new Winnie The Pooh movie on Monday night.  This was the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney animation in more than 35 years.  The story starts with Eeyore who has lost his tail.   “Well a tail is either there or it isn’t there,” said Pooh. “And yours isn’t… there.”  The second pot has Owl sending the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit.  Inspired by five stories from A.A. Milne’s books in Disney’s classic, hand-drawn art style, “Winnie the Pooh” hits theaters July 15, 2011.

Here’s a quick sneak peek:

Now, what did my family think? We loved it! Including the short at the beginning, the movie only lasts 68 minutes. That is the perfect amount of time for the your crowd. For Will (my 4 year old), it was perfect. My kids thought it was super funny. Will was laughing so loud and so hard at times that I could have sworn the whole theater could hear him. I loved that the movie looked like we were reading the story out of a book. The really cool thing is that Madison was reading along with the narrator at times! Bill and I also loved that it was done in the old animation style (hand drawn) versus the computer animation you see with most movies now. It was truly a classic. Right after the movie, I asked the kids what they thought:

I would highly recommend going to go see Winnie The Pooh! Everyone in my house gives it a thumbs up (AND as a sidenote, stay for the credits. There is definitely a payout at the end. My son, in the video, may have alluded to it. :) )

Glad to hear it was short but also in the old style. I had been wondering about that. I think my youngest would love it and know myself and the older kids would love it as well. I remember watching Pooh with my oldest all the time, miss those days.
