Let me start by saying I love working out. I work out every day and I constantly look for new workouts to challenge me. Hard Body by Jillian Michaels does just that. For this DVD, you need a mat and multiple sized hand weights-any range from 3lbs to 10lbs depending on your comfort level with weights. If your floors are hard wood (as mine are), I suggest possibly 2 mats for added support.
Level 1 is challenging so don’t be tricked into thinking level 1 means beginner!! There are different modifications for each circuit of the levels so do not be discouraged. There is weight training, cardio training, and plyometrics all rolled into both levels. Level 2 is more challenging than Level 1 but again there are modifications. Jillian Michaels is very engaging and pushes you to do your best in all circuits. She has 4 women showing the different modifications and different weight sizes you can choose for each move.
This is an intense workout but Jillian motivates you to do your best, rest and get water if needed, and push yourself as far as you can within your comfort level. I consider myself in relatively good shape, and this DVD pushed me harder than I have been pushed in a workout DVD. It keeps your attention and is not boring! I have used it every other day for almost 2 weeks now and I still need to rest & regroup! Each level is 45 minutes broken down into 6 circuits that you repeat twice with a warm up and a cool down, however the 45 minutes go fast!
I own most of Jillian Michaels workout DVDs and this one is by far her most challenging, in my opinion. Hard Body by Jillian Michaels will definitely get you where you want to be!!
