As you all probably know, I am the crazy mom at my kids school who try to earn money for the school. I am the BoxTop Coordinator, the Labels for Education coordinator, and the Tyson Coordinator. My kids' school is lucky that most of our parents can afford the school supplies that our students need. However, not all families and not all schools are as lucky as mine. That is why I was glad to hear about what Clorox®, GLAD®, Hidden Valley®, and DonorsChoose is doing to help these families! Our school is all about giving our time, our talent, and our treasure, and these brands have also stepped up do that. I am so glad to be partnering with them!
Clorox®, GLAD®, and Hidden Valley® products help parents and teachers simplify back to school by making clean homes and classrooms, storage solutions and meal and snack time easier. I know all of these products were on my back to school list! I can only imagine the stress as a parent when you realize that you can't afford the back to school supplies your child needs (and if you have multiple children this amount compounds!).This year, The Clorox Company is simplifying back to school through a partnership with DonorsChoose.org, a website that helps funds projects for classrooms in need. I've worked with DonorsChoose in the past plus I know teachers who have benefitted from them. They are pretty amazing.
Now, if you are like me, you want to know how to help. You are going to love the program they have set up, because they have made it so easy. For every $5 you spend on Clorox, Hidden Valley and GLAD products, you’ll receive $1 (up to $5) that you can redeem as a donation to DonorsChoose.org or as money off on future purchases. All you have to do is snap a picture of your receipt and upload it and earn your reward! Seriously, it is that easy. It is also a great time to start the conversation with your kids about giving back to those in need.
Clorox is also hosting a pop-up shop here in Chicago! Local families and teachers can shop for back-to-school essentials like backpacks, pencils and notebooks, as well as Clorox, GLAD and Hidden Valley products, free of charge. You read that right – free of charge. On September 7th, please join me atDouglas Taylor Elementary if you are a family in need. I will be there, and I will be writing another blog post in the days after showing you all my experience. I personally think this is so amazing to see a company give back to the community like this.
Education is the way out of poverty. Every child should be able to start the school year off on the right foot with the right supplies.
I love to hear about great companies giving back to their community. I use these products in my own house and I’m proud that they have stepped up to the plate to help out with back-to-school supplies for those in need. Great job!
I always patronize a company’s products especially if they have been tried and tested through the years, and when they have campaigns that give back to the community! Please keep us posted on your experience with this campaign. It definitely feels good inside to be able to help our brothers in need.
I always love to buy from companies that are philanthropic. CLorox is such an essential product to have on hand for cleaning laundry and disinfecting surfaces. I love this campaign.
I love this initiative from Clorox. Any company that can promote education is great in my opinion.
I live in Chicago and my mom is a teacher so I’ll definitely pass this along here way so she can inform the students at her school. This is an awesome thing they are doing for families in need!
I am glad that these companies are finding ways to give back to schools and help out with the needs that class rooms may need.
Wow way to go Clorox for this, that’s awesome. I love seeing brands do good and help others!
More companies should do this. Our children need every advantage they can gain.
I love when companies give back to communities like this!! What a great way to pay it forward to schools.
The donors choose program is such a nice way to give back while shopping for supplies. It’s amazing that there will be a pop-up shop with free supplies!
When I was a teacher I used Donor’s Choose all the time, and it really helped a lot! Bravo to Clorox!
We use a lot of Clorox products. It’s good to see them giving back so much.
These are great products that we use.But what is more amazing is their corporate social responsibility -helping others.
This sounds like a great program. Schools need help and students need help. These are brands I am proud to support.
I am all about supporting companies that give back to people who are in need! It definitely feels better when you know that the money you’re paying them also helps people at the same time. I think this is an awesome move by clorox!
Love this campaign. My SIL is a teacher, and it is the only product she uses in her classroom. Way to give back Clorox.
Nice, I had no idea. I shop a lot of these, nice to see them getting involved. I am a die hard box top collector.
