Balance

How balanced is your life? I know that in my family if one thing is out of balance everything is out of balance. If I spend too much time working, playing with my kids gets neglected. If I spend too much time donating my time to others, my work doesn't get done. There is a fine line of balance between all the facets of your life. I love this week's tip about the balance, because it is something I think we can all work on. Work-life balance is really a daily effort. There is just so much in our lives to balance — family, friends, community, spirituality, personal growth, self care, work, etc.

Eating needs to be scheduled in especially for those of us who work from home and have a bad habit of skipping meals. I can admit that I am totally guilty of that. I get so wrapped up writing and scheduling posts some days that I forget to eat. I will also have conference calls, and some days if I need to eat, I need something I can do it right at my computer! However, I will to totally honest here and tell you all I need to work more on the “me” part of the balance. I have a feeling that most moms feel that way too.

Kellogg's cereals are easy and quick to make and eat. It takes me less than 5 minutes to make myself a bowl of cereal. Best of all, I can work and eat if need be! Now, in a perfect world, I wouldn't be eating in front of my computer. However, we all have those days where life is so hectic that you have too.

How are you in achieving a work/life/fun balance in your lives? How does Kellogg's help you in balancing your life?

@Kelloggs_US I love that they recommend ME time and PLAY time – all work and no plays makes Jenn a sad girl!

  2. Tracie

I need to work more play time into my day. And maybe a little less work – or, at least, more organized work time. That would make a huge difference.

  3. Michelle

I’m trying to be more balanced and take care of me better.

  4. I love when I am able to achieve balance. I am not a huge cereal eater but love making premade breakfast meals so I can always make time to eat. I do need to figure out how to “play” more. Great tips!

It is so important to make time for yourself each and every day if possible!

Balance is definitely something I’m working on. 🙂

I need to work on more “me” time, but with so much going on right now… and yes, I know I find excuses. I am making it a goal of mine, though.

  9. I didn’t even know I was supposed to be taking “me” time… lol. I guess that shows you how much of it I am getting. Guess I should work on that.

I am horrible in the mornings, I rush to check and respond to emails, get dressed, get kids going, and off to start the day… I manage dinners much easier… ha

  11. I need more play and me time but I’ll take what I can get. 🙂 Breakfasts are usually one of the meals I feel like preparing because I’m not so hurried (and exhausted) yet.

I need to prioritize and get some balance going in my life, so I can get more done around my house.

I think I am pretty well balanced ~ but some days I get totally out of whack. Those are the days I need to work at getting back in line.

  14. Pam

To be honest, my life is not balanced enough! I need to work on it.

  15. Sara Phillips

It’s SO important for me to take time for ME. If I don’t, I get VERY cranky!

  16. Debbie Denny

I am trying new schedule to work all things in. Working good so far!

  17. Shell Feis

My son & I start every day with a bowl of cereal- often a Kellogg’s variety!

I agree about the skipping meals thing. Sometimes I just don’t feel like making anything. Being pregnant makes me so fatigued and often in the evenings I find myself to be nauseated. I fight through it though because I’m eating for like 3 over here. 1 baby on the way and my toddler still nurses quite often 🙂

  19. The one thing I don’t allow myself very often is the luxury of reading. I adore reading and I have two books on my nightstand unopened that have been sitting here since Christmas. I look at them every day longingly.

Love that play and me time is included in balance. I need to focus on more me and play time this year.

  21. Dawn

I definitely need to work more on the balance in my life. It’s too easy to stay on the computer all day when one works from home.

  22. Susan MomBlogger

What a great idea and one I need to work on balancing my life – if the kiddos will let me – lol

  23. Amanda Love

My life is not balanced at all but I do try and eat breakfast as much as I can. Most of my breakfast foods have been Kellogg’s. The kids love Frosted Flakes and Corn Pops. 🙂

  24. Hmm… balance. I’m working on that. My life is pretty chaotic right now, but hopefully I can settle things down.
