Who doesn’t want free pizza? If you don’t, well then you must be a little weird, since I (and my family for that matter) would love to win a free pizza a week for a year! Sounds to good to be true? Well, it is not.
Ristorante Pizza’s are offering this awesome Ristorante Contest that you can win a free pizza a week for a year. This contest ends tomorrow. However, you can enter once a day, so you can enter today and tomorrow and get 2 entries! It does not cost you anything to enter, so you really have nothing to lose and pizza to gain!
Some other cool things this site has is a store locator, so you can find the closest dealer that carries this awesome pizza. You can also sign up for the “12 Minutes to Romance” newsletter which will help you get the right vibe, food and drinks for an evening in. They also have deals and promotions listed which of course is my favorite. Who doesn’t like saving a couple of bucks!
Needless to say, you definitely need to check this contest and this site out. However, I recommend that you don’t do it hungry (or maybe you should!) or you will be running out to get some of these pizzas to eat!
Right now, I am trying to figure out what to make for dinner tonight. I would consider myself a beginner cook, since most of my specialties come out of a box (who doesn’t like Hamburger Helper!). That’s why when I come across blogs like My Recipes Blog I am in seventh heaven. I need simple directions that I can’t mess up. I am usually trying to deal with (fight with?) two kids and cook at the same time. It isn’t a good combination. However, if the recipe is simple and to the point, it makes it hard for me to miss something. I like the 4 to 5 step directions. I also love that these recipes actually include ingredients I have around the house. Nothing is more annoying than when you have to run to the store for one weird ingredient that you will never use again. You can also search by categories on the recipes. If you are looking for a recipe using apricots, all you have to do is click apricots on the sidebar and you have your recipe choices. I swear, you can’t make it any easier than that. Lastly, the pictures next to the recipes also look delicious and make me want to try those recipes. If you are like me and need to figure out what to make for dinner tonight, take a peek at My Recipes Blog.

Did you ever wish that Gulf oysters would give something other than a pearl? I know I wouldn’t mind if they would give me some cold hard cash. That would be extremely nice. I’d even take loose change. Instead of a money tree, I could have my own oyster farm. That sounds nice, doesn’t it? I could use that money to fix my leaky basement!
On a more serious note, if you want to learn more about what oysters really do and have (like pearls), you should check out Be Oyster Aware. For example, I learned that oysters are an excellent source of zinc, vitamin B-12, and omega-3 fatty acids. It almost makes me want to try them. They even have a list of oyster recipes!
The site is actually a really good source for information regarding Vibrio vulnificus. Healthy people don’t get this illness. However, if you are an at risk person, you could. How do you know if you are at risk? If you have liver disease, iron overload disease, diabetes, cancer, stomach disorders, or any illness or medical condition that weakens the body’s immune system, you are considered at risk and you should not eat raw oysters. I had no idea that this was even an issue for people, so I am glad to see there are sites out there warning people at risk. I found it extremely informative.

Who wants a cookie? I know that I always could go for a cookie no matter when it is. However, I think I own one cookie recipe (actually make that two because I have a chocolate chip recipe and a Christmas cookie recipe). Bill and the kids get bored of my one chocolate chip recipe and are constantly bugging me that I should find some new cookie recipes. I think I found the site to solve all my cookie problems.
Popular Cookie Recipes is the site to go to when you are looking for the best cookie recipes. I also learned some cool facts about cookies that I am definitely going to be using in my next Trivia Pursuit game. Did you know that the first cookies were really miniature cakes used to test oven temperatures before the baker cooked the final cake? There is a long history that follows the cookie that I never would have guessed that I learned tonight. Anybody want to challenge me?
The real reason I wanted to check out the cookie site was for the recipes and I was not disappointed. All the recipes listed are super easy to make and hard to screw up. You know, my type of recipe. I looked at everything from the Chocolate Chip Recipe to Snickerdoodle Recipe to the Gingerbread Recipe. I think I could handle all of them.
The more I keep talking about cookies, the hungrier I keep getting. Needless to say, I think I am baking some cookies tonight. Anybody want to join me?
Woo hoo! Two weeks in a row I remembered to do the Four Foods On Friday. Though, after answering these questions you may think I need some diet pills. Here we go:
#1. What’s your favorite potato chip? Do Nacho Cheese Doritos count as a potato chip. Probably not, so I’d have to say I don’t really care for potato chips.
#2. Do you use butter, margarine, both or neither? Margarine
#3. What’s your favorite mixed alcoholic (or virgin) drink? Strawberry Margaritas
#4. What’s your favorite vegetable and how do you prepare it? Green Beans. I open the can and put in the pan and turn the stove on. LOL I don’t cook much, can you tell?
