Happy Birthday!

I have to wish my dear hubby a Happy Birthday today!  We have nothing special planned, so I am not sure what we are doing tonight.  Madison wants to go to McDonalds!  LOL  I have a feeling that is not going to be happening.  My mom’s birthday was yesterday so she gets a happy birthday wish too!  Now, we put candles on both their cakes, I wouldn’t need any lighting in my house at all!  Seriously though, I have to go check and see if we have any cake mix, so we can make daddy a cake.  If we do, I’ll make sure we post a picture.  If not, I’m running to the grocery store for cupcakes.

A note to my husband . . .

Dear Husband:

If you kill a spider in the bathtub, please wash it down the drain. I don’t like a morning surprise when I go to climb into the shower. You know I am deathly afraid of spiders. This goes for the sinks too.

Thank you!

Lisa

(Can you guess what happened at my house this morning?  Anybody else afraid of creapy crawlies in their tub?)

On The List

We officially are on the waiting list to get a Prius. We put our deposit down (which was double of what we were originally were told). It was just as easy as running to the store to get dog supplies. We signed a few papers and that was that. We are definitely looking at a six month wait to get one. When we were leaving, the sales guy told us that he would probably see us again when there was snow on the ground. Madison said to him: “good, you can help me build a snowman then”. I couldn’t help laughing at that.

Ok, so Bill’s birthday is Friday.  It is Wednesday.  I have no idea what to get him. I don’t think he needs anything like air tools, so I am really stumped here. I do know that we still have some odds and ends stuff to do in the basement, so I don’t know if I should buy some of that and give that to him.  I also need something from the kids to give him.  I wanted to buy a Wii, but he doesn’t want one.  That would have been an easy present.  I am putting the bat signal out here — what should I get him for his birthday?

Izeafest . . .here I come

Well, I finally did it.  I set up my Orlando vacations deal. There is a conference there in September that I had registered for months and months ago.  However, I was looking for a roommate and hadn’t set up my plane or my hotel yet.  However, now it is done.  I am using the free Southwest ticket I won at BlogWorld last year to fly there (when I called to set up my flight, the lady was so nice and friendly and even spoke English!).  We are going to be staying at the Courtyard Marriott.  I found an awesome deal on their website (better than the deal that the conference was getting for us!).  I wish I would have time to do some fun playing at the theme parks there, but I have to get back to my kids plus the conference has us booked up.  Let me know if you are going to be there too, so we can meet up!

I’ve got a secret

I have been wanting to post this since Monday.  No worries — I am not pregnant and nobody here needs a medical bracelet or anything like that.  Since my husband has had to work late the last two night, we haven’t had a chance to go do this yet.  Figured it out yet?  Well, I’ve blogged about it and asked everyone to tell my husband why we should get one of these.  No idea, yet?  Well, Bill decided (unless he changes his mind again which then I will have to kill him) that we are going to go put a deposit down on a Prius!  We test drove my sister’s car.  My only complaints have to do with things that I will just have to get use to.  As soon as we put our deposit down, then we go on a 4-6 month waiting list.  Unfortunately, we don’t get it right away, but it’ll allow us some time to save.  I really didn’t want two car payments at the same time, but what are you going to do?  The Jeep’s 20 miles per gallon is killing us when gas is so darn expensive.

Weekend Travels

We just got back from another weekend up in Green Bay.  I had a wedding shower on Saturday for one of my cousins who gets married in six weeks.  Everybody had a great time.  Since my parents only have dial up, I don’t bring up my laptop computer which means I am behind with both my blogs and my emails.  I am slowly but surely catching up, but I probably won’t be completely caught up till tomorrow.  I plan on going to bed soon.  However, I just love this picture.  I took it while we were at the Wildlife Sanctuary this morning (will be writing a review on it over at My Road Less Traveled By soon).  The kids loved the ducks and geese there.  We also checked out the buildings that are located there, and they had a blast.  Somehow, Bill managed to get two mosquito bites.  I think I am going to be going to bed shortly, so I’ll update some more tomorrow.
