Madison did a reading at church yesterday. This is a petition which is where we pray for others. I think she did a good job!

Madison’s Church Reading
Wednesday, March 17th, 2010Madison’s Crazy Week
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010I’m so proud of her. She’s has a crazy week since I last blogged. As many of you know, she goes to a Catholic school. Well, she got picked to read a petition (if you’re not Catholic, it’s the part of mass where we pray for others). She’s got hard words to read like classmates and principal, so we’ve been practicing every night. She’ll be doing it next Tuesday at 8:30 mass, so if your interested, let me know! Bill is going to go to work late that morning to see it! I’m super excited (and a little nervous) for her.
She’s also full of crazy questions like: Why did God create sharks — they hurt people?, Why do trains ride on train tracks and not the road?, and you know stuff that MOM just doesn’t know the answer too and cant Google the answer.
The last cool news is that she has a new tooth coming in. Unfortunately, the tooth in front of it isn’t loose yet. I called the dentist, and we are suppose to get her to wiggle it. If it’s still not loose in a week, we have to bring her in. I love our dentist, and they straight out said that they prefer the tooth to fall out on it’s own and pulling would be a last resort.
We are taking the kids tonight to a preview of How To Train A Dragon. It’ll be Will’s first movie at a movie theater so wish us luck!
Health and Potty Training . . . Kinda
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010Thanks for all emails asking how Madison was. She’s actually doing fine now. I was right. Her keytones were pretty high and as soon as I got them in check, she was her normal annoying self. Something I will be asking the doctor when we got for her year old checkup (when I get around to scheduling it) is when I can let her go to school and when I should keep her home based on her keytone levels.
And on the potty training front. Well, something weird has happened with Will. Really weird. Bill and I were seeing who could be more stubborn. We were out of diapers and neither of us wanted to run and get new ones. That means, yesterday, Will got stuck in pullups because I had no other diapers. This is where the weirdness comes in. Will could sit in a wet diaper all day and not have it bother him. However, as soon as he pees in the pullups, he takes it off, and goes and grabs a new one. However, he won’t sit on the toilet (or the potty chair). I’m not quite sure what to make of this.
That’s the updates on the home front.
Out of the mouth of babes
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009I was cutting open a clamshell plastic wrapper for some triple A batteries last night (that I had to run out and get). Madison’s Leapster2 had gone dead, and she was whining. Instead of paying attention to what I was doing, I was talking and looking at her when I did it. I cut a nice little V in my thumb with blood squirting everywhere. Madison’s response?
Mom, that’s why I have safety scissors.
Obviously, mom needs a pair too. Sigh.
