Wonder Pets
Ok, I swear we don’t watch TV all day, but I do like outlining some of the better children’s programs that there is. Nick Jr. and Noggin have a lot of quality programming for the little ones to watch.
I also like the Wonder Pets (however, I have a cousin who finds them absolutely annoying). There is Linny the Guinea Pig, Ming-Ming Duckling, and Tuck Turtle. The travel the world to help other animals in need. It is really cute.
In every episode, they get a call from an animal who needs help. Even though they are the Wonder Pets, they do not actually possess superpowers. They solve problems with teamwork. To quote a song that is used every episode, “What’s going to work? Teamwork!”
There is a ton of singing on this show too, and I just learned that the music is written by some of Broadway’s top composers.
Backyardigans
I love this show. I love when Madison wants to watch it. Why? It holds my attention as much as it holds hers. She likes to sing with, and I find a lot of education value from it. To quote from the Noggin site:
“The Backyardigans are a group of five young friends who get together daily to play in the backyard they share. Each day, their imaginations transform that backyard into a different fantastic, photo-realistic landscape, and they go off on a high-stakes quest full of song, dance, and adventure. ”
Doesn’t that sound like fun?
