Celebrating My #Lobsterworthy Birthday

We won't get into how old I am, but my birthday was last Friday. I have a rule on my birthday though – I refuse to make dinner. I think it is a good rule, and my family seems to abide by it. This year, we spent my birthday at Red Lobster!

This sight is what you always see when we go to Red Lobster. My kids love watching the lobsters in the tank they have at my local Red Lobster. We had a 45 minute wait, so this definitely kept the kids busy for part of that. We then ordered our drinks and appetizers. Since it was my birthday, I ordered a Strawberry Lobsterita.

Bill had a Lobster Rum. This refreshing limited edition specialty drink features Malibu Red, pineapple juice and mango passion fruit mix, topped with Myers’s Dark Rum.

We then ordered my favorite appetizer – shrimp cocktail!

Funny thing is — Madison ate most of them. However, Bill ate most of the delicious biscuits:

I ordered the tilapia but Bill had the Lobster Scampi Linguini. This is succulent Maine lobster meat over a bed of linguini in a white wine and garlic-scampi sauce. He said it was delicious!

Since we were there to celebrate my #Lobsterworthy moment (my birthday!), we also had dessert – brownie a la mode.

For those of you who don't know, Red Lobster is the world's largest seafood restaurant company with over 700 restaurants in the United States and Canada. They serve freshly prepared seafood at reasonable prices in a lively, contemporary seaside atmosphere and offers lobster options on virtually every page of the menu. If you are lucky like me, you can walk there too. (It's literally down the street from where I live!). Lobsterfest is going on now and for a limited time. It is the one time of year you can choose from the largest variety of lobster dishes on the menu. Exclusive dishes that are only available during Lobsterfest:

  • Lobster Lover’s Dream® – A succulent rock lobster tail and sweet split Maine lobster tail, roasted and served with lobster-and-shrimp linguini Alfredo.
  • Dueling Lobster Tails – two Maine lobster tails, one roasted and topped with tender shrimp in a creamy garlic sauce, the other golden-baked with crab-and-seafood stuffing.
  • Rock Island Stuffed Tilapia – Fresh tilapia roasted with crab-and-seafood stuffing and topped with Maine lobster meat in a creamy lobster butter sauce.

This was a great way to celebrate my birthday and an awesome night out with my family. Have you been to Red Lobster before? Would you order any of the exclusive dishes for Lobsterfest or is there something else off the menu you love? Do you have any #Lobsterworthy moments you need to celebrate?
