Computer Update Part II

Woo hoo!!! It is not the motherboard. It is a $35 part that holds the fan in the laptop (aff). There is a screw that is broken off in it, so it wasn't holding the fan tight or something like that. All I know is that this is a much cheaper fix than I thought it was going to be. I am never this lucky!

    The bad thing is that Bill was going to let me buy a new laptop for mother's day. Instead, I got nothing.

    Wow, that *is* pretty lucky. I hardly ever take electronics in for repairs because I always think it'll probably just be cheaper to buy a new item. So — to get out of your laptop mess with just a $35 part is definitely awesome! Congrats 🙂

    I paid about $1100 for it about 2 years ago and I have no backup of the data on there. I had no choice – I had to bring it in. The first thing I plan on doing is backing up the entire thing!
