How do you spend time with your family? We are just getting home (aff) from taking my family camping, but we always try to find time to spend together. My kids are only young once, so we try and take advantage of the fact that they actually want to spend time with us right now. We also tend to enjoy a lot of the same movies, so we like to make a bowl of popcorn and have a family movie night. The nice thing is that Netflix makes it so easy to spend together as a family.
Here are a few titles for Family Movie Night:
For your little kids: |
1. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 2 (aff). The Pirate Fairy 3 (aff). Hoodwinked 4. Angelina Ballerina 5. Bob the Builder 6. The Muppet Movie |
For your big kids: |
1. Strange Hill High 2 (aff). The Avengers 3 (aff). The Smurfs 2 4. Star Wars: The Clone Wars 5. Free Birds 6. Mako Mermaids: An H2O Adventure |
For teens (and you!): |
What is your favorite movie?
My kids and I could watch The Avengers over and over again.
These are all great flicks. I don’t have kids, but The Avengers and all the tie-in movies still get serious play in our house.
We love a good movie night at our house. Between my 14 year old son and my husband, it’s mostly Avengers, The Expendables, and stuff like there. I don’t get to watch The Notebook NEARLY as often as I’d like.
You forgot “The Goonies” that is a classic movie!
We watched “Honey, I shrunk the kids” with our little ones and they loved it!
So many great movies out there that the kids haven’t seen yet!
This is very popular in my home. My kids do this on their tablets almost daily. It is perfect for home and travel!
My family is a huge fan of Netflix. We all share an account and share with each other the great movies and TV shows we have discovered. It’s so great. – Katy
All of my children are fairly young, so there’s a lot of Muppet action in our house. Of course, The Avengers and other super hero movies get play time, too!
Hoodwinked looks like a funny, family-friendly movie. I’m putting that on my To Watch list!
This sounds like fun! We are thinking about a Netflix subscription.
My girls love watching the Barbie Princess movies and we watch them all the time. Our favorite is the 12 Dancing Princesses!
These are great movies! My boys enjoy lots of those you listed above! 🙂
So many great movies! This makes me want to watch Ferris Bueller and The Breakfast Club again!
We definitely enjoy lots of family movie nights. Many of these are favorites in our household.
Netflix is definitely a hit at our house!
Cloudy w a chance of meatballs 2 is a movie that’s made me laugh harder than I have in years. Awesome choice
My oldest (he’s 17) loves the Breakfast Club, the girls and I watched Mako Mermaid Series. As a family we watch television shows that hit Netflix. Not sure what we’d do without Netflix to be honest. LOVE, love, love it. 🙂
We need to start having movie nights over at our house. Kids would love it.
There are all fantastic selections! My daughter loves The Pirate Fairy and Angelina Ballerina. Cueless really brings me back though!
I love having family movie nights with the boys. We haven’t had one in a while though. Hmmm. My oldest was just talking about Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 tonight.
What a great list! I think my son would love Free Birds!
We just rewatched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. It wasn’t the biggest blockbuster, but it’s such a good movie. I really enjoyed it.
Ferris Bueller and the Breakfast Club will always be big favorites of mine!
Love 14 Going on 30! I could watch it over and over!
Every night my 3 year old and I watch Monster in Paris. I just love the music and he never makes it past the first 10 minutes.
We watch anything superhero related as a family. When the kids go to bed I enjoy Orange is the New Black on Netflix, not a movie, but it’s my guilty pleasure.
Family movie night is one of the best things ever invented.
Free Birds is such a cute movie! I think we have watched it at least 10 times! We will have to check out some of the movies on your list!
I couldn’t pick a favorite movie if I tried! way to many. We love netflix for this exact reason, can always find a favorite or something new. Right now we are in the middle of finishing up the Fosters. It’s our favorite this week!
I’ve already introduced my oldest son to Breakfast Club since its always on TV and he loves it. I think we’ll have to try Ferris next.
Netflix is my go to for my toddler when it comes to watching movies on the go. She just loves watching MLP and my tablet or phone is never my own when she starts watching.
Netflix is our go-to for Family Movie Night. I always like to pick a classic movie from the 80’s or 90’s!
We love Netflix. Most of the movies you feature have been watched numerous times.
I’m not a Tinkerbell fan but I have to admit that I really liked the Pirate Fairy movie.
We love Netflix too and I am sure it has saved many a family from boredom night… Just wish I had time to watch more.
Great selections especially the ones for the little ones. My kids have seen all of them and would’t mind watching them over and over again.
I would have to say The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller have got to be two of my favorite movies. Good times!
I don’t know what I would do without my Netflix! We cut the cable cord a while back, and I don’t even miss it.
Such a great selection of family videos!
It has been a while since the kids watched Angelina. This past weekend they watched Cloudy and the Next Great Baker episodes!
Great choices! We try and do a movie night every once in a while also. I think it’s time to introduce my almost 13 yr old to your teen movie choices!
Love The Breakfast Club! It is one of those moves that although it is older it is still relevant and repsentative and holds meaning with its viewers.
