I Fell In Love Again With Nine Inch Nails #APMusicSeries

Nine Inch Nails is my go to band. I know, I know . . . .you are thinking “Lisa, you don't look like you listen to industrial rock”. Yes, I know that. I've heard that for years on end. In high school, I dyed my hair, dressed all goth like, and fell in love with Nine Inch Nails. 20 years later I am still in love with them. I mean, Trent Reznor (the founder and singer of Nine Inch Nails) is on my “list”. Yes, my husband knows this and even commented to me on the way home about how buff Trent is now. Yes, honey — I totally noticed that.

When the Illinois Lottery asked if I wanted to attend the Nine Inch Nails/Soundgarden, I jumped at the chance! I have to tell you about the great promo that the Illinois Lottery is running! When you head over to the Illinois Lottery website, make sure you enter the #APMusicSeries giveaway! You could win 2 Live Nation tickets! They have daily winners (and there were some winners on the deck with me last night to watch Nine Inch Nails). You can enter daily too! If you are attending one of the #APMusicSeries concerts, make sure you look for the Illinois Lottery tent.

Once we checked out the booth, we headed to our spot (we were on the deck at that 1st Midwest Amphitheater otherwise known as The World to people from Chicago. It's changed hands quite a few times, so people just refer to what it was called first. Kinda like how the Willis Tower will always be the Sears Tower). I also realized something when we drove out there. See my T-shirt?

2014-07-24 19.20.34That is vintage Nine Inch Nails. Yes, seriously, I have had that T-shirt since the early 90's! The part that floored me is that it was pretty big on me now. How big was it when I wore it in high school? (Though Bill did remind me that in the 90's we wore everything big and baggy). Bill and I had a blast pointing out others with vintage shirts. (Does that make us old?)

So Soundgarden opened for Nine Inch Nails. This was perfect for all of fans from the 90's! We loved them back them and now!

They were great!

After Soundgarden played for an hour, it was time for Nine Inch Nails. That's who I was waiting for all day and all night. I can tell you that this was the best Nine Inch Nails concert I've been too. It was amazing!

Sounds like an amazing experience, Lisa! I was lucky enough to see NIN on their last Calgary tour, and Soundgarden & NIN recently at Pemberton festival. Both are phenominal live acts and I keep going back to “The Downward Spiral” and “Superunknown” on my ipod. Thanks for sharing.
