Fitness For Geeks

If you follow my personal blog, you will know that I am on a weight loss journey right now. I am always looking for great books to help me with my journey, and Fitness For Geeks is one of those books.

This book explains what cubicle dwellers, home (aff) office addicts, and the rest of us tech junkies can do to reverse “chair living,” get moving, and eat right. This is a book that shows us how to step away from our computers and step into a healthier life. A few of the topics that are covered:

  • The best times of day to eat andwhatto eat.
  • Why eating carbs before exercising isn't healthy.
  • Why you can get a beer belly, even if you don't drink beer.
  • The best exercise routines to lose weight, and maintain a healthy weight.
  • What two things matter most in keeping a healthy lifestyle.
  • How to find your way around the gym, especially the weight room.
  • The pros and cons of yoga.
  • What apps are the best for exercise, and how to use them.

This book is a pretty easy read. You won't get lost in a bunch of mumbo jumbo. Instead, its written in plain English yet includes things like apps that will help you will weight loss (this author definitely knows his audience for this book).

If you are trying to live a healthier lifestyle and happen to be techie, then Fitness For Geeks is worth checking out!
