In 1979, Fogo® began sharing the gaucho way of preparing meat in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Today, their gaucho chefs still expertly grill 16 cuts of meat and offer you continuous tableside service.
They recently opened a Rosemont location, and I got to experience their excellent cuisine thanks to Chicagonista Live!
We first learned how to grill the meats the Gaucho way before we got to dig in. We had coasters by our plates to let the waiters know if we wanted more food or if we wanted them to stop offering it. The first thing we started off on was the salad bar.
I had more on this plate but I forgot to take the picture before I started eating! After salad, we started with the meat:
Now, I took a little bit of everything. I couldn't tell you what any of it was but it was all good. However, if you want to be choosy they actually have a menu just for the meat!
Now, they tell you to pace yourself. They aren't lying. I hate to admit this but my eyes were wayyyyyyy bigger than my stomach. It was so much meaty goodness. They had lots of fun other stuff to try too:
They even had I wine cellar there with so much wine:
We finishes our meal with dessert:
It was soooo good. As for pricing, lunch is $26.50 and dinner is $46.50 at the Rosemont location, with children 6 and under free and children 7-12 half price. Throughout the month of October, you can get a complimentary dessert if you mention ChicagonistaLIVE. This is valid only at the Rosemont location (#FogoRosemont). I highly recommend that cake!!
ChicagonistaLIVE will be broadcasting live from their Rosemont location on Tuesday October 8 at 2pm CST with guests TTW’s Check, Please! new host Cat D’ Orio and Guy-a-titian David Grotto. They have also teamed with me for a $50 Fogo de Chao gift card for one lucky reader. The giveaway will end on October 8 and the winner will be selected from the comments in this post and announced live on the ChicagonistaLIVE show!
Just leave me a comment below letting me know what part of eating here would you like best!
