I recently checked out the InterCntinental Chicago Magnificent Mile. Wow. That one word summarizes this hotel. The property was originally built in 1929 as the Medinah Athletic Club, a men-only athletic facility. Purchased in 1988, and after extensive restoration and renovation, the InterContinental Chicago officially opened its doors in 1990. The InterContinental Chicago has 792 guest rooms, overlooking either the city or Lake Michigan. The property has two, newly renovated guest towers—the Historic Tower and the Executive Tower. The rooms in this place are huge. I mean, seriously, unheard of in size for downtown!
These rooms have amazing views too:
The InterContinental Chicago features a historic landmark Junior Olympic-sized indoor
swimming pool, recognized as one of the top indoor pools in the country.
They also understand that we have families and have created the Family Fun Package ($65 add-on) to make the stay even more fun for the kids. It includes the following amenities when booking a room at the hotel:
- A Nintendo Wii Console set up in your room
- An in-room movie rental and some Garrett’s popcorn for the perfect movie night in
- Two tickets to the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel
- A deck of cards for games anywhere
- Two Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse hats for the kids
This place would be amazing for those of us who live her for a Staycation. I was thoroughly impressed and hope I get the opportunity to stay here!
