Must Have Car Devices #ConnectMyCar #TNTChicago

IMG_1437Did you know that the average car is 11.4 years? That means some of us own cars that were on the road before the iPhone was released! I know I am one of those — my van is 10 years old. Cars this old didn't have all the fancy dancy gadgets that the new ones do know. However, have no fear, you don't have to buy a new car just to get some of those functions anymore! There are a ton of after market products you can add to your vehicle! I recently attended the TNTChicago event where I got to check out these devices, and I know a few of these are now on my Christmas list!

First, there is the AAMP TranzIt BLU HF. It installs in any vehicle so you can make calls hands-free and listen to music streaming services or music stored on your phone. ($149.95 on isimplesolutions.com)

Next is the Brandmotion Rear Vision System with Mirror Display. Blind spots can be up to 18 feet in a car so the rear vision system offers back-up protection with a crisp image and enhanced brightness for backing up at night. ($699)

This next product is on my Christmas list! The Pioneer AVIC-7100NEX multimedia receiver with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto brings the familiar controls of your smartphone to your in-dash system. Go hands-free for calls, ask Siri to check the weather or use Google Maps to avoid traffic. ($699)

Voxx CarLink ($249 plus $9.99/mo.) allows you to track your vehicle, auto-send an alert to emergency services in case of an accident, get notifications on its location and get real-time performance diagnostics. This perfect for keeping tabs on a new driver to ensure they stay safe and drive smart.

The Verizon Hum ($0 plus $14.99/mo. on hum.com) allows you to emote start and unlock with your phone, near real-time diagnostics, ASE-certified mechanics hotline when something goes wrong, incident alert to emergency services in case of crash This allows you peace of mind for you and your family.

Lastly, there is theCobra Drive HD Dash Cam ($199.95) that records everything the driver sees, even at night thanks to infrared LEDs. When the built-in accelerometer senses a sudden acceleration or collision, it automatically save video surrounding the incident. You can also get some great video of your surroundings!

These are a lot of aftermarket car gadgets that are pretty cool. I know that I want quite a few of them! Which ones are you interested in?

  2. Jennifer

I’ve got to show this to my husband. He’s the biggest gear head in the history of gear heads. That extends to gadgets, too!

  3. Jenna Wood

I think it’s great to have these tech devices on hand but important we don’t learn to rely on them! Some of the old school skills still come in handy in emergencies, but these are also nice innovations to have accessible.

  4. Amy Desrosiers

I love that this product allows for hands free calls! There are so many people who totally need this type of product that I see driving.

  5. Jeanette

Wow! I never knew this existed. I need all of them (of course I will have to convince the family to buy them for me!) My hubby is a huge car person he would love these too!

  6. I’ve got to get one of those Jump Packs. My battery once died on me late at night, and I was stuck for about an hour before a car came by and jumped me off.

  7. Donna

I love how the new cars have all of these things built in. But, it is great that they make products for people with older cars too!

It is so amazing the cool things they have come up with for vehicles in the last few years! I mean things that I never thought possible back when we got married! I think the CarLink would be really awesome to have for our new van!

  13. Shauna

I think I want every single one of them 🙂 That remote start sounds very cool to me. It would be a lifesaver in the hot summer or colder winter…

  14. Shelley Zurek

Lately I have been thinking about the dashboard cam. I feel sometimes you need it, to bad it doesn’t rotate 360!

  15. Nancy L.

I had never heard of this and it sounds absolutely wonderful! Is there anything it can’t do? lol Wow! Very impressive. I have two young drivers in our home so this is a priceless device to have on hand. I’m going to have hubby buy one! 🙂

  16. Ann Bacciaglia

Now that the weather is getting colder i have been thinking of installing a remote starter. I hate having to get in a freezing car.

  17. Vera Sweeney

I would love the hands free device!! With how much we drive the kids around it would be a huge help for running our business on the go.

  18. Liz Mays

I know that power pack would come in handy. That dash cam would be super nice as a bit of extra insurance when traveling.

  19. Sabrina @ Dinner, then Dessert

It’s amazing how portable and efficient technology is becoming!

  20. Dogvills

  21. Krista

  22. Lisa

Cobra Dash Cam would be awesome! Especially for seeing at night. I would love a backup cam too with all the kids I have running around.

  23. Kim Orlando

The JumPack makes a great gift for teen drivers. You never have to hear “I couldn’t call because my phone died” or “I was late because my car died” ever again!

  24. As a guy, i really need a dashboard cam so that i can sing silly in my car and annoy my wife and let the world know about it! Since my car is not that brand new, it usually get jammed so often and jam starters come in handy.
