My Christmas Story About Christmas Presents

My Christmas Story About Christmas Presents

This happened on the morning of Christmas Eve. Madison, a mere two years old, added her touch to the excitement surrounding her Christmas presents. She also gave me a heart attack. 🙂

We decided to play the Santa card a day early with plans to leave for Green Bay on Christmas morning. We eagerly awaited Madison's discovery of the scooter, one of our carefully curated gifts for her. Her eyes lit up with delight as she took to the new wheels, relishing the joy it brought her.

As the morning unfolded, Bill encouraged her to delve into the other presents from Santa Claus. To our surprise, Madison, with the innocence only a 2-year-old possesses, had a revelation. She turned to Bill and exclaimed, “Daddy, those aren't from Santa. You brought them up from downstairs.”

In the weeks prior, I had taken on the role of Santa's helper. I had wrapped all our Christmas presents while Bill and her were away. Upon their return, Bill dutifully transported the gifts downstairs.

Now caught in the act, I found myself in a humorous predicament. Thinking on my feet, I managed to salvage the Christmas magic. With a smile, I assured Madison that the unwrapped presents were Santa's special deliveries. Mommy and Daddy lovingly prepared all the wrapped ones.

In this charming moment, the blend of innocence and holiday magic created a memory that would undoubtedly be recounted in the future. Madison's keen observation added a playful twist to our Christmas celebration, reminding us that the season's joy lies not only in the gifts but also in the delightful surprises and the laughter shared among the family. As we embarked on our journey to Green Bay, the spirit of Christmas was alive and well, wrapped in the warmth of love and the innocence of a child's perception.
