What New Moms Need And A New Mom Gift Guide

We all remember what it is like to be a new mom. There are so many products out there, and you have no idea what you need. After you have a few kids, you learn what you need and what you don't need. Also, circumstances affect what you need. For example, when I had Madison we had diaper bundle things(I for the life of me can't remember what it was called. I just know it held dirty diapers and you whole house didn't stink). This worked great since we lived in a 3 story townhouse at the time. Some must get items:

  • A Baby Swing. Madison loved to be swung. Will not so much. However, it does give you a small break so you can run to the bathroom without a baby in your arms.'
  • A Baby Bathtub. It makes bathing you baby so much easier. You can even stick it in your big tub, and you don't have to worry about baby slipping out of your arms!
  • Baby Washclothes. I still use these and my kids are 9 and 12! They are the perfect size to help wash your baby.
  • Burp clothes. In the house, we used clothe diapers as burp clothes. With Will having acid reflux, we went through millions of these every day. There are some great uses for them besides using them for bup clothes. (We used the pretty ones out in public.)
  • 2 sheets and 2 mattress protectors. I'm going to clue you into a trick my mother in law taught me. When you have the crib ready, set it up like this — mattress, mattress pad, sheet, mattress pad, and then sheet. Then, in the middle of the night because I swear this only happens then, if they pee or poop through their Pjs, you rip off the first mattress pad and sheet. Now, you have a completely ready bed!
  • Diaper bag
  • car seat
  • Diapers, lots and lots of diapers
  • Aquafor. We still use this. It is amazing for skin.
  • Baby monitor. This is great so you can still keep an eye on baby without having to be in the room.

This is just a small list. If you are looking for some great gift ideas since Christmas is just around the corner, I have put together a small gift guide for the New Mom: (I've included some beauty products because us moms still like to look nice even though we haven't slept through the night in months)
