This is what my mailbox now looks like after our fix. If you didn’t read that post, a snow plow hit our mailbox in the middle of the night Friday night. However, you have to have a mailbox to have your mail delivered. Since the ground is frozen here, we can’t replace the mailbox anytime soon. Here is what it looks like now:

I love to play games, and I think my love of games has rubbed off on my children. I’ll play any board game against anyone. I personally love Monopoly, but in 12 years, my husband has only one a few times (so for some reason, he doesn’t want to play with me anymore). However, this year, I think our game playing will be on our Wii. We are having Christmas at my house, and we are the only one with a Wii. Besides some Wii games, I think we will be playing War and Go Fish, since Madison is four and that is about all she knows how to play.
What games do you play on playing over the holidays?
Remember that Prius we went on the waiting list for back in July? Well, we had one false start about 3 weeks ago when they told us our car was in. However, when we got there, it was the wrong car completely! Needless to say, we were not happy campers. However, there really wasn’t much we could do besides complain. Well, we got a phone call today (after we noticed the missing mailbox — see post below), and guess what they said? No, it wasn’t for discount furniture. Our new car was in! I was still a little nervous that it was going to be the wrong one again. However, it was the right one! Though things weren’t as smooth as it seemed. The car actually came in yesterday, but our sales guy doesn’t work on Fridays. When they logged the car into the system, they actually mixed up our car with another blue Prius that came in today. Now, our sales guy called and said it was here quite early this morning. I was out and had to come back home. We then fed the kids breakfast, and took them over to Grandma’s house. In the meantime, the dealership was looking for our missing car. From the sounds of things, they had found it shortly before we got there. I can only imagine how bad our salesguy was freaking out. All in all though - we got the car we wanted with the package we wanted. We are happy campers. It was too darn cold to take pictures today, so hopefully I will get a chance to get it up tomorrow.

I’ve never been a big fan of my mailbox. However, it served its purpose till last night. We woke up this morning to our mailbox laying on the ground. Since a lot of my product reviews are sent by the mail, this is a very bad, bad thing. Second problem, it snowed here last night, so the ground is frozen. We think it was hit by the snow plow in the middle of the night (it was still there at 11 pm). The beam that actually holds the mailbox is split. We had to do a horrible fix job in about 20 degree weather today. Bill took some industrial clamps and zip ties and that is the only thing that is holding the beam together. The beam also leans forward pretty bad, so we had to take stakes and pound them into the ground around the base. This looks like the worst white trash mailbox I’ve ever seen, and there is no way to fix this until the ground thaws out. I am hoping to get some pictures of my sorry looking mailbox tomorrow. If anyone has any ideas of how to get new a mailbox into the frozen ground, I am all ears.

Which is why I haven’t been posting here too often. This last week has been a long and trying week for us. Nothing major has went wrong — just a ton of little things. I took last weekend off, and I just never got back into the swing of things (and no I didn’t buy any big ticket items on Black Friday like diamond rings). The highlights of my week — Will getting diagnosed again with impetigo and we got new cable, satellite, and phone service. I’ve got a ton of catching up to do, so I’ll be posting a tad later with the other events.
