Peggy Noodle Hula Hoop Queen

hula hoop queenPeggy Noodle (aff) is the twelve-year-old new kid on the block. She's interesting and fun and teaches the kids in her neighborhood that not only is there more to her than meets the eye, but that everybody can find a way to be great.

This story takes place in 1957, so there was some stuff in here my kids got a bit of a history lesson with it. Both my 5 year old and 9 year old liked it. It is on shorter side, so your older readers with get through it pretty quickly. I personally liked the lessons about self-esteem, self-confidence, friendship and determination. This book also contains a glossary of terms appropriate to the 1950's setting and provides a website to research and explore them at the end. You can easily make this a learning tool!

I highly recommend checking out Peggy Noodle Hula Hoop Queen!

This would have been a great book to read to my 3rd graders back when I was teaching! Sounds great!
