Walgreens Prescription Savings Club #rxsavingsclub

With the economy the way it is and so many people out of work, every little bit helps. That is why I just signed up my family for the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. There are so many benefits for this program:

  • Valuable discounts on thousands of brand-name and all generic medications
  • Between 5 percent and 20 percent discount on most immunizations
  • 10 percent bonus on purchases of Walgreens Brand, W Brand, Nice! products and in-store photofinishing services
  • 10 percent savings on services from Take Care ClinicsSM at select Walgreens

They also have savings on preventive and lifestyle medications your insurance may not cover. There is also additional discounts on pet medications with a human equivalent, all compounded medications, nebulizers and diabetic supplies! An individual membership is $20 per year and a family can join for $35 a year. Signing up was super easy:

However, I was slightly disappointed that my local Walgreens really had nothing about this program. There was no signage promoting it. There wasn't even a pamphlet for me to leave with. I would think this a program they should be promoting more. Also, the employees there weren't all that sure what the exact benefits of the Walgreens Prescription Savings Plan were. They knew it saved you on prescriptions, but they weren't sure on the other benefits. They knew you saved something on photo, but weren't sure what. The pharmacy also got credit for signing me up, so you would think that they would have more information on it. It also looked like they gave me their last handout of this:

Who doesn't want savings at Walgreens? I love that this program rewards me for shopping at Walgreens for other items since we spend a lot of time there, because it is so close to us. Plus, I love that they will refund you back whatever you don't make using the program! This is a win/win situation for you the consumer!

I was able to look at their pamphlet online and find out what I needed to know and how exactly the program works. For example, if you buy W branded items, you just swipe your card at checkout before making payment, your 10% bonus will be added immediately onto your card, and then next time you scan your card at checkout, the bonus amount will be deducted from your purchase total. It is that easy and will be used often here! With two kids and me, this prescription saving club will get quite the workout!

It's too bad the pharmacists didn't know more about the program, but I'm glad you were able to get more info online. I think it is great that you can save on W branded products AND that you get the difference back if you don't save the cost of the membership in a year! That's a guarantee that I can work with!
