Preterm Labor

No, I didn't drop off the face of the earth. I just ended up in the hostital yesterday. Don't freak out — everybody is fine.

I ended up having contractions and pressure, so we went up to labor and delivery floor at the hospital and got it checked out. Come to find out, I have a UTI (urinary tract infection) which is probably what started my contractions. My cervix was closed, so they gave me a shot to stop the contractions. It worked for a while and then the contractions started again. They gave me a different drug (this one in pill form) and kept me overnight for observation. I am now discharged and have no restrictions.

I have to thank Cass for listening to me and advising me on what she thought I should do. Going to the hospital was the right decision (I just missed out on a 70 degree day!).

    So glad you are ok!

I went pre-term labor with Mark like 6 times! It's so scary!

They were so worried about it at one point during the 7th month, they rushed me by ambulance to a hospital that could handle pre-term babies better than they could. It was the scariest 6 hour ride of my life, thinking I was losing my baby. They wouldn't tell me anything, just kept telling the ambulance driver to go faster and for me to calm down.

Calm down!? They were driving like 100mph and telling the driver to go faster, and I was supposed to be calm?

But really, take it easy and glad it was taken care of. 🙂

I ended up in the hospital six times with Madison too. I would have ridden out the contractions but the pressure was scarying me. I never thought I had a UTI. I knew I was in the bathroom a lot, but I thought it was because I was pregnant.

Thank goodness you got it checked out and you both are fine. 🙂

Oh my! Well, good thing Cass advised you. (Too bad about missing the 70 degree day though.)

Sounds like my cousin. She went into pre-labor like 5 times with her first child, and 2 with her second. But it's a good thing you're okay.
