Perspective – #NSNation Update Week 46 #samp

I started this post yesterday. And the horror of the school shooting happened. I ended up rewriting this in light of that.

My kids are visiting Santa right now with my husband at a holiday party they go to every year. My kids to keep their innocence another day. However, there are 28 people who don't.

As I hugged my children last night (I have a 5 year old and an 8 year old which falls into the age range of the kids gone now so this has hit a little to close to home (aff) for me), I remembered why I started this weight loss journey. I want to be here for my kids. Being obese wasn't going to allow me that.

That being said, I am no longer going to beat up myself for my “off” weeks. I will do my best, and sometimes that may not be enough. I amazingly had another great week last week (2 (aff).4 lbs down), and I am done beating myself up for not being “thin” enough. I am going to enjoy my new body and my weight loss.

I am currently down 1.4 lbs away from one of my goals. I am going to bask in that accomplishment. I can tell you that when I started this, I never thought I'd make it down to 150 lbs. The fact that I am this close surprises even me. And I will do it.

I will be proud that I've lost almost 75 lbs this year.

THIS WEEKS WEIGHT LOSS: 2 (aff).4 lbs
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS: 74.6 lbs

You have done awesome! I'm so proud of you! You look great and I'm so glad you're healthy for your kids. Yesterday was absolutely depressing and having a daughter in kindergarten makes it even more heartbreaking. I've been cuddling her since. Keep up the good work Lisa!

You definitely know how I am feeling today. Especially when one of the photos they keep showing looks like my 8 year daughter (its the cover photo on Chicago Tribune today too. Its the girl looking down and she has her arm on a boy. At first glance, it looks exactly like Madison)

I have three Grandkids, ages 7, 6 and 4: My hubby wants to lose 100 pounds for them- however, at age 70, it's a bit harder, especially in cold weather.
