Amby Baby Bed
We just had this one of these baby beds delivered to the house. Here’s what it looks like:

This baby bed definitely has great potential to be awesome. When I first looked at it, I was excited to see that it is suppose to help infant colic, infant reflux, restless sleepers, and short nappers. Since my son fits 3 of the 4 of those things, I thought this would work perfect for us. It is endorsed by both Dr. Sears and JPMA. It took Bill about twenty minutes to put it together. The directions were pictures, so they were super easy to follow.
I wish we had this 5 months ago when he was first born. This would have worked great for our needs back them. Will still suffers from GERD. However, the only problem I have is that Will is too big for this. Will has recently (within the last week) figured out how to sit up. He also immediately tried to roll over in it and screamed when he got stuck. It says that you can use this up until 12 months, but I don’t see how that is possible. However, if this was the bed he started with, it may have made a difference.
Overall, I would get this for a new baby. Its design and assembly are nice and easy. It also keeps your baby on its back (which helps prevent SIDS) and helps with a variety of other issues. Sleeping babies are always a good thing.
Womanly Things
This post is going to be complaining about womanly things that with be referred to as Flo (you know, the waitress from the game Diner Dash). I just wanted to warn the faint of heart before I begin.
Do you know what having a baby does to your hormones? If not, let me explain. It completely throws them out of wack. Why do I say that? Well, after having Madison, for about 5 months, Flo would visit three weeks out of the month. Then I would have a week without her and then she would come and visit again. This wonderful occurrence started after what I have happening now. Currently, Flo visits every two weeks. I am on birth control, so this should NOT be happening. However, until we find the one that works for me, we play this wonderful game. I get PMS, so anyone who has regular contact with me should get some term life insurance. Seriously. After having Madison, they actually put me on PMD medication, since I was so moody. I hoping to avoid that right now.
On the other end of womanly things, I bought some new bras, since after having Will, the girls changed in size. Here’s the scary/weird part of the story. Bill was checking out what I bought when I went shopping and asked what size they were. I said they were a DD cup, and he goes no they look more D cup. I checked, and he was right. Why does my husband know cup sizes by just looking at them? LOL
I think I am going to die
That is how bad I feel right now. I woke up at 1 am this morning to the worst pain I have ever had. This pain is probably the equivalent of having a baby or a kidney stone (both of which I have had). The worse part — it is in my breast. (warning: body parts conversation about to ensue). I pumped at 1 and cried the entire time (and anyone who know me know I don’t cry — ever). I then tried to go back to bed. I put a moist heating pad on my breast and laid in bed and cried until 5. I did some research and all I came up with was mastisis and a clogged duct. Problem is, I don’t have all the symptoms for either one. At 5, I finally remember that I have 600 mg of Ibuprofin left from when I had Will, so I took one of those. I also pumped in extreme pain for 45 minutes. My doctor’s office does not open until 9, so I had to suck it up till then. When I did get ahold of them, they told me to monitor my symptoms and call back at 12 (which I did). She told me that they were having problems getting ahold of the dr and that she would call me back when she did. About 1:10, she called me back and said since I was not running a fever I most likely just had a clogged duct. I should keep taking the Ibuprofin and if I spiked a fever, I needed to call.
2 o’clock rolled around and we had to take Will to his pediatric cardiologist appointment. I took my temp again and it was 100.3. Instead of calling the doctor, we went to Will’s appointment. I know, typical mom. His health is more important than mine.
Good news, the heart murmur is normal one and they are not concerned at all. We have to go back in 5 months, so they can recheck. However, they told me not to worry about it.
It was about 4 by the time we got home and my temp was about 97.9. So I still didn’t call. I pumped, ate something, and went to bed. I woke up about 8:30 pm and pumped and took my temp. I am now running a 101.3 fever. I had the doctor paged and she decided to call me a prescription for antibiotics in. Being that I pump, I should not have mastis. However, something is definitely going on. If my fever does not go down in the next 4 hours, I will be going to the emergency room tonight. What a great way to spend the 4th!
I’ll take any advice that anyone has!
