Of all our modern conveniences that we have, what can’t you live without? In my house, it would have to be disposable diapers and cell phones. My son, aka the pooping machine, has so many dirty diapers a day that I would seriously go insane if I had to wash all those. Seriously, the kid poops a minimum of four times daily. My other convenience has to be cell phones. I remember a time when you only used your cell phone for an emergency because otherwise, it was sooooo expensive. However, in time, prices have come down, and people actually get rid of their landlines for these. I can’t imagine not being able to get ahold of my husband at the drop of hat like I can now. He is often driving from job site to job site, so without this convenience, I wouldn’t know where he was or if he got stuck in traffic on the way home. I couldn’t call him to pick up a gallon of needed milk either.
When Madison had to get stitches (this is when she was 2), it was a day that Bill forgot his cell phone at home. I can’t tell you what a pain it was to try and get ahold of him. I had her at an Urgent Care, and my mother in law called my father in law who called the office that Bill was at to let him know to come home. It is almost scary how much we rely on cell phones.
Speaking of convenience, you should check out the coupons here to get yourself some Yoplait yogurt. Can you imagine life without the convenience of plastic? I know, me neither! Thank you PBN for this great coupon!

That Baby DVD and That Baby CD is a collection that is a huge hit in my house. We had been listening to the same classical music for 4 years. We started that with Madison and just continued to use the same one for Will. However, we recently got ahold of That Baby CD and I love it. the songs are covers of songs by Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley, Natalie Merchant, and The Pretenders to just name a few, so as an adult, you will recognize them. However, they don’t change them for the kids so that you don’t recognize them. They don’t “over-kid” them. The CD along gets five stars from me. However, the DVD is just as good. I don’t mind watching it (it isn’t mind numbing as a lot of children’s DVDs can be). My kids love watching it. It even holds Will’s attention (somewhat — he’s only going to be one, so there isn’t much of an attention span there). The DVD is simple but very good.
If you are looking for a great gift to give, That Baby DVD and That Baby CD should top your list. I know I would have loved to receive this and I know a couple of moms would also would love this.

That is how bad I feel right now. I woke up at 1 am this morning to the worst pain I have ever had. This pain is probably the equivalent of having a baby or a kidney stone (both of which I have had). The worse part — it is in my breast. (warning: body parts conversation about to ensue). I pumped at 1 and cried the entire time (and anyone who know me know I don’t cry — ever). I then tried to go back to bed. I put a moist heating pad on my breast and laid in bed and cried until 5. I did some research and all I came up with was mastisis and a clogged duct. Problem is, I don’t have all the symptoms for either one. At 5, I finally remember that I have 600 mg of Ibuprofin left from when I had Will, so I took one of those. I also pumped in extreme pain for 45 minutes. My doctor’s office does not open until 9, so I had to suck it up till then. When I did get ahold of them, they told me to monitor my symptoms and call back at 12 (which I did). She told me that they were having problems getting ahold of the dr and that she would call me back when she did. About 1:10, she called me back and said since I was not running a fever I most likely just had a clogged duct. I should keep taking the Ibuprofin and if I spiked a fever, I needed to call.
2 o’clock rolled around and we had to take Will to his pediatric cardiologist appointment. I took my temp again and it was 100.3. Instead of calling the doctor, we went to Will’s appointment. I know, typical mom. His health is more important than mine.
Good news, the heart murmur is normal one and they are not concerned at all. We have to go back in 5 months, so they can recheck. However, they told me not to worry about it.
It was about 4 by the time we got home and my temp was about 97.9. So I still didn’t call. I pumped, ate something, and went to bed. I woke up about 8:30 pm and pumped and took my temp. I am now running a 101.3 fever. I had the doctor paged and she decided to call me a prescription for antibiotics in. Being that I pump, I should not have mastis. However, something is definitely going on. If my fever does not go down in the next 4 hours, I will be going to the emergency room tonight. What a great way to spend the 4th!
I’ll take any advice that anyone has!

We are currently at my inlaws right now. Our furnace completely has quit working. It died about 10 o’clock and we gave up on it around 12:30 this morning. The high today is suppose to be a whopping 16 degrees, so Madison and I decided not to brave the cold again.
Since it is the motherboard that they think is the problem (and our furnace is 12 years old), we are getting a new furnace. However, they can’t put it in till tommorrow. Anybody who needs to get ahold of us should call my cell phone or my in-laws house.
