Sick, Sick, and MORE Sick
My house is a house of sickness. It all started with Bill. He got bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection. In the morning, he coughs so much that he throws it. It is super crazy. He’s on antibiotics and cough medicine. Fast forward to this last Sunday. I ended up in Urgent Care. I’ve got a bad cold, but my ear was in so much pain that I couldn’t stand it. I have a middle ear infection. Not to be outdone, the kids got in the mix. I ended up taking Will and Madison to the doctor today. They basically have what Bill and I have plus Will has an ear infection. They both are on antibiotics. Needless to say, Walgreens is really liking us this week.
I think we need to move someplace warm and sunny. You know, hire a bunch of small movers, and go have some fun in the sun. I’ve moved with one kid — how hard could two be? When we moved to where we live now, we had two weeks to get out of our house. To make matters worse, one of those weeks, we were on vacation. If I could move like that, I could definitely handle everything else. Heck, I wouldn’t mind a small vacation where it’s warm and everybody wouldn’t be sick!
Update on the sick kids
Madison is still running a fever anywhere between 100 – 104 degrees. As soon as the Motrin Cold kicks out, her fever spikes back up. As soon as the Motrin Cold kicks in, her temperature goes back down, and she starts acting like herself. I feel bad for her. I am seriously considering keeping her home tomorrow from preschool even if her temp is down. She looks pretty pale. She’s not real big on eating either.
On the Will front, well, I had to take him to the doctor today. I was right with what I thought he had. He has impetigo. He has a sore right where the elastic of his diaper rubs. The sore is about the size of a penny (it started out the size of a pimple). I have been putting antibiotics on it for a week now. However, on Sunday, he got another sore (pimple size) on another part of his leg. At that point, I figured it was impetigo. Since that is contagious and we have the whole vacation thing going on, I figured I better take him in. They just put him on an oral antibiotic.
Keep your fingers crossed that they both are better by the end of the week.
