Update on Will and Madison too

Monday, May 4th, 2009

In the mess I came home to, I forgot to blog about what happened before I left. I was getting ready last Tuesday morning for my trip to Stouffers, when Will came running out of his room.  Now, he had been in a crib.  The top of the crib is pretty high, so we knew we were in trouble and had to turn his bed into a toddler bed.  Over this last weekend, Bill and I did just that.  So far, so good.  He hasn’t come running out too many times, and it has been a lot easier than when we did this with Madison (though Madison was 1 when she climbed out.  He’s almost two).

The Madison update is that she’s sick now.  She’s running a fever and has a bad cold.

I know, I know — I’d love to catch a break too.

The Prius Got Hit!

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Yes, everybody is okay. It was just Bill in the car. Nobody is hurt. At this point, we don’t know when Bill gets his car back. It doesn’t look like it, but it is undriveable. The brakes are grinding and the alignment is completely off. Its at the collision place right now. But here’s the pictures I made Bill take:

Edited to add: Yes, this is the car we bought in December.  It’s not even six months old.

This Weeks Post Was Suggested By Kathi

Kevin BakerKevin Baker
U.S. Navy

Kevin George Baker, a disabled Navy veteran, had been riding his hand-propelled bicycle from his hometown through Washington, D.C. and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to Marseilles, Illinois to support a new flag designed to honor fallen members of the military. His trip began at his home on Saturday, March 7 and sadly ended on March 13 when he passed away in his sleep. Baker, who is unable to use his legs due to a neurological impairment, was flying the Honor and Remember Flag from his bike and encouraged people along the way to sign a petition urging Congress to adopt the flag as a new national symbol by passing HR Bill 1034.

You can read the rest of Baker’s story here

Thinking happy happy thoughts

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

NOT! I swear when it rains it pours. I awoke to a huge puddle of water in front of my house this morning.  Now, the temp is -8 with a windchill of -20, so  I definitely should not have had standing water.  I called Bill freaked out and he had me call the village.  I think it is a water main break.  However, nobody bothered to come to my door.  Instead, they just turned off my water.  I just realized it when I tried to make Will his diluted version of juice.  Needless to say, I am ticked.  I called the village, and they won’t give me an ETA at all.  I seriously would love to know if I need to send Bill out for water or what.  I seriously am trying not to be highly irritated right now. I could be working on things like Increasing Blog Article Quality or doing some of my freelance work. Instead, I am standing in my front window watching my village dig a huge hole in my street and trying to figure out what to make for dinner with no water.  Also, try explaining to a 5 year old why she can’t flush the toilet after we have spent 2 years drilling it into her head that she needs to flush the toilet.

I know there are way bigger things in life I should be concerned about, but man this is irritating.

Disney, Disney, Here We Come

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Yes, you heard me.  We are going to DisneyWorld!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, now that you are done screaming with me, let me tell you all about it.  Due to some Christmas money, gift certificates, and money we didn’t spend on Christmas, we were able to pull this off.  Disney is offering a buy 4 night get 3 free deal.  This also includes your park tickets.  Also, if you go before March 29th, you get a $200 gift card to Disney when you get there.  I was able to find airfare from Southwest for $78 each way for each of us.  To save a little money, we are making Will a lap baby (wish me luck on that one).

I was to Disney when I was 15, but haven’t been back since.  This will be the first trip for Bill, Madison, and Will.  Madison is pretty excited.  Since I have a few weeks before we get to go, I’ll be talking a lot of Disney.  :)

However, Bill has already told me I am not allowed to pay for internet access while I am there, so you all will at least get a  little break from the Disney madness.

Tell me about your trips to Disney.  Anything we definitely need to do?  Any advice you want to give me?
