I got home last night around midnight, so I am dragging some major butt today. My goal is to get some posts us this weekend about the Sony Mommy Blogger Event, but I am not sure that is going to happen. I have to apologize that I haven’t been able to answer any comments or anything. They had us jam packed for a couple of days and now I have to play catch up with my kids, do some budgeting and planning with the bills, and catch up on laundry. Tomorrow, we have a birthday party to go to, so that kills getting anything done. Bill has been playing with cameras all morning. I got a couple of good pictures of the kids. I am hoping to get those up shortly too. I just feel like I have a ton of stuff to do and no time to do it in.

I’m Home!
Saturday, April 19th, 2008Men & Shopping
Saturday, April 12th, 2008Bill and I went to Home Depot today to price up a lot of the stuff we need for the basement. I swear that shopping with men is a futile endeavor. I almost told Bill he better start looking at life insurance rates. He kept getting frustrated at me, because I was looking at things that weren’t on the list. He also was getting seriously frustrated me when I was asking questions about why we needed certain things. Then when he couldn’t find something he refused to ask for help. I could have just strangled him. All in all, we did get prices for everything we think we need. We are trying to make a budget, so we know what this remodel will cost, and we won’t run out of money.
More News On Todd Stroger
Friday, May 25th, 2007I wrote earlier this week about how Todd Stroger’s biggest challenge has been the media. You know, none of the important stuff liking laying people off bothered him. I just found out that Mr. Stroger has hired yet another one of his friends for a high paying position!
Richard Velazquez is being paid to give legal advice to Todd Stroger. However, his paycheck is coming from the Public Defender’s Office. You know, the same office that just had to lay off 13 lawyers and 65 – 70 people are being forced to take unpaid days off because of the budget cuts. How much is this guy making? $108,000 a year.
What a freaking joke!
Dreams
Thursday, May 24th, 2007I had the weirdest dream last night. What is ever weirder is that I remember it. I dreamed that I open our gas bill and it was for $974. We are on the budget plan, so our gas bill is always around $76. I remember calling them and telling them that. They kept telling me we owed $974.
Now, it is summer, so we are not using the gas at all. Also, a $974 bill is quite a lot and such a weird number. I am just trying to figure out what I was “really” dreaming about. Any ideas?
Todd Stroger Vs. The Media
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007Ever feel the need to throttle your public officials? Please remember that I live in Cook County, Illinois where our motto is vote often. Todd Stroger was voted the Cook County President several months ago (don’t get me going on this one — but let me say I did not vote for him!).
Todd was asked what the biggest challenge facing Cook County. Was his answer the $500 billion budget deficit? No. How about the layoffs that had to occur? Nope. The biggest challenge has been the media. What??!!?? What kind of answer is that????? He is mad because the media has portrayed him in a bad light. Well, let’s see. First, quit hiring your friends and family. Then quit putting them in high paying positions. Then don’t make $20 million in changes to the budget after it has been approved.
All the newspapers did was report it. I guess he’s ticked, because the press didn’t bend over for him.
