I have catching up on all my shows that have been TIVO’d all week long. I am so glad that the writers are back! I was getting bored watching reruns that I have seen a million times already. So far tonight, I have watched Criminal Minds, Numbers, and CSI (Las Vegas). It still floors me that on these shows that they can find a fingerprint on, say, a gold bangle and in less than an hour find the killer. I just realized that all three shows are of the same genre — cop shows. Each is very unique and I love to watch all three of them. I am still waiting for new shows of House, Bones, and Deadliest Catch.

I know I didn’t talk about it much on here, but my old laptop was not working right before I went to Miami. We ended up buying me a new one, and its good we did! Last week, we had to take it to the computer place to get looked at and the hard drive blew up! Unfortunately, they could not save anything off the old one no matter how much praying we did or how much religious jewelry we wore. I also did not have full backup like I thought I did either. The biggest thing we lost was all of our tax documentation for 2007. For the last week, I have been putting together all of our 2007 stuff together. I am still missing one 1099, so it isn’t like I can do our taxes yet anyway.
Anyway, remember to make you sure back everything up. You never know when your hard drive is going to crash and you are stuck like we are.

Are you a Jericho fan? I personally am not, but the hubby loves this show. He was crushed when I told him that CBS canceled it after one season. The biggest problem was the lengthy hiatus in the middle of the season. They never seemed to reclaim the viewers they lost.
Viewers are mad. They have called, emailed, and petitioned CBS to bring it back for a second season. Nina Tassler, the network president, actually posted on a forum: “We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision . . . Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.”
So what does that mean? A tv movie? Another network picking it up?

My phone saga gets weirder. I called Nextel last week to complain that my phone sucks. Since I did not buy the replacement plan, I had to talk to Motorola. They pretty much told me I was screwed. We decided to take the phone to a repair center. However, on Sunday it was closed. The plan was then for me to take it in yesterday. Surprisingly, a phone showed up on doorstep about 10 am. I called and was like why did you send me a phone. Of course they charged me for it too. However, the charge was pretty cheap, so I am not too worried about it. I decided to keep the phone and I now have a phone that works and is really cool.
I even ordered a ringtone. My friend Kat will be so jealous. My ringtone is now Sober by Tool.

You thought bullying only happened in school, right? Well, welcome to the internet world where jerks hide behind proxies and anonymous comments to prey upon women. Yes, this is really happening.
I am not writing this to scare anyone. I think the majority of people on the internet mind their own business. It is the minority of people out there that are making some of our lives miserable. I am not sure if you have heard the story of Kathy Sierra. If you haven’t, please click the link. Yes, that is really happening.

To me, it seemed more a fluff piece than anything, but I guess that is how you bring it to the nations attention. You start slowly. Kathy Sierra was interviewed for this. My friend Kat was also. She has had a cyber stalker for the past 5 years. Yes, 5 years and the authorities will not do anything to help her. He has threatened to turn her into Child Protective Services, threatened her, threatened her children, called her father a pedophile, and I could go on and on. I will not publish the site that he runs, because I do not want to drive traffic to him. However, in reviewing his site, I found several of my other online friends on there. One of them took down her blog last night due to finding herself on his hit list (she did put it back up this morning). There is also a piece written by the Washington Post which explains the situation much better.
I wish I could say I am not afraid of this type of behavior. In the internet world today, you can locate anyone (see privacy post below). With a new baby on the way, I don’t need this kind of crap in my life. I luck out. I have not become a target (yet). I would love to say that I would stand up to these a$$holes who do this. However, if my life and my kids lives are being threatened, I think I may do what Kathy did and pack my bags and close my blog. I give Kat a ton of credit for putting up with crap for 5 years now.
We cannot allow these creeps to do this to others on the web. I ask that all of you put the ribbon that Beth created on your site. Blog about this. The only way this is going to stop is if people take a stand and make these lowlifes realize that this is not acceptable! Or use this one:
