This is the time of year that we make a list of all the things we would like to do to our house and to our yard. I know that we can’t be the only ones who do this.

For example, when I was painting the fence for Madison’s First Communion (that was May 5th), I realized how bad our fence is. When we first moved here, we put a fence in that March (2006). We bought the cheapest thing we could find at Menards and installed that. I can’t complain too much since the fence has lasted this log. However, while painting, I realized that we have definite sections that are rotting. Badly. To be honest, I will be surprised if the fence lasts the rest of this summer. That being said, we have started looking at our fencing options. We’ve seen some fencing that you put a pipe into the ground instead of having to dig holes for the posts. That sounds heaven sent!

We had Bill’s cousin check out our air conditioner too. Last summer, it did not work at all. However, this summer, so far, it seems to be working. He checked all of our PVC Duct work. I’m hoping if anything needs to be fixed, its something as easy as Lasco fittings or any other CIS pieces. However, it is like 90 degrees out right now, and I am cool. That’s all I ask for. However, the air didn’t go out until July last summer, so keep your fingers crossed that we don’t have a repeat performance!

At some point, we will be cleaning out our junk room in the basement too. I’m hoping to reorganize that so you can get in there and the attic needs some major reorganization.

Meet my new Nutribear! Yes, you heard me right. For every 10 pounds you lose on Nutrisystem, they send you one of these cute bears! I love how they allow you to visualize how much weight you’ve lost. Plus, it’s cute and a great talking point when people ask you. My kids loved it too! Plus, after you’ve acquired a few of these, you can really see what you lost!

Well, onto my update. I wish I could say I’ve done awesome this week. I exercised more than I have before. I have had 0 soda in a week.  Instead, I found some 0 calorie generic lemonade.  You just add the powder to water.  If figured that was better than soda.  I hate drinking water, so this was the best I can do.  I’ve stuck to my meal plan (though I tend to be low on calories so I am wondering if that is what happened).  However, I kept forgetting to drink my protein drink.

Needless to say, when I stepped on the scale this morning, I was disappointed to see that I had lost zero pounds this week.  The part that kills me is that the clothes I bought last weekend – I feel that they are looser.  Now, that may be in my head or my body is shifting my weight again.  Sigh.  Regardless, I just finished my protein drink while I was typing this and I’m crossing my fingers for this upcoming week!  (And I’ll be gone to the Housewares Show this weekend and next week, so I am worried I’ll have another week of 0 lost!).

We had an awesome weekend this weekend.  My sister and I promised my mom about 2 years ago that we would paint her living room and hallway.  This had not been done in about 30 years, so it was well overdue.  We finally had a free weekend, so off to Green Bay we went.

My sister had taped everything, so we could start first thing Saturday morning.  The weather held out for us (it was suppose to rain), so the kids could play outside.  My mom also wanted ceiling fans put into the bedrooms, so Bill took care of that.  He also replaced their outside light.  Needless to say, it was a pretty busy Saturday!  The paint color my mom chose looked brown on the paint chip, it even looked tan in the paint can.  However, once we got it on the wall, it ended up looking like the color she already had (just fresher and newer now!).  That was a tad bit disappointing.  After we were done painting (and letting it dry), Bill realized how old their outlets look.  We ran to Menards real quick and got new outlets and trim plates.  Bill hooked those up for them too!  To finish off their new living room, Kari (my sister) and I bought new curtains and a new curtain rod too.  We also rearranged their living room sofa sets. Now, they don’t have contemporary sectionals or even a sleeper sofas. Instead, they have just a plain couch, 3 chairs, and 2 endtables.  All in all, I think we were able to freshen up the room and bring it into the 21st century!

I also fixed up their flower garden.  This was a project I started last summer and half of what we planted didn’t come back this year.  I again went to Menards with my mom and we picked up some new plants.  With some help from my dad (he dug the holes), I planted to the new plants and am crossing my fingers they take this year.  It has rained since we left, so that can only help them!

You may have noticed that my site has been up and down and up and down, and sometimes could have been showing some weird stuff.  I know.  I’ve had an issue across all of my sites and have been dealing with my host.  Come to find out, I’ve got some really huge blogs.  (Who knew!?).  From what I’ve been told, I outgrew my shared hosting and had to move to VPS hosting.  That is a price difference of paying $7 a month to $50 a month.  I had no choice but to upgrade.  Unfortunately, that created about 20 more problems and didn’t fix my original one.  That’s what I literally have been doing for a week.  I’ve talked to Hostgator (myhost) more than my husband!  (And no I’m not kidding).  However, I did learn how to great cpanels for each of my blogs and lots of other cool stuff that I’ll never remember how to do again  LOL

Thank you for sticking with me through this mess, and I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I’m crossing my fingers that everything will be working great here on out.  If it’s not, let me know!

We’ve had a fun last couple of days. Madison caught a nasty summer virus. What do I mean by nasty? Well, it causes fevers for up to 7 days and blisters in the back of your throat! At this point, she’s complaining that it hurts when she swallows. She’s had fevers up to 104 degrees already. She’s been to her doctor, so we’ve ruled out strep throat. However, I’m keeping my fingers crossed. We are suppose to go camping this weekend and I’m hoping she gets better so we can still go. I’m also hoping Will doesn’t get this. It’s pretty nasty.

And potty training. If I only had one kid, I would think we are great. Overall, Will seems to get it. His accidents are more of the #2 variety. I can deal with that. He did start speech therapy last week, and it went well. I think he may be ready for preschool come fall (though he needs to be 100% potty trained by then).
