Shedding Clothes and Shedding Pounds – #NSNation Update Week 5

I think I need therapy.  I know, you are all laughing right now, but I’ve got some definiate denial issues.  I know how much weight I’ve lost, but I just don’t see it.  And I still think my old clothes fit even if I know better now.  Let me tell you about my weekend.  We went up to Green Bay to see my family this weekend.  I had a great time!  However, my sister and I went clothes shopping.  I do have to start out by thanking Lane Bryant in Green Bay.  I had the most awesome salesperson (I think her name was Amanda!).  We told her why we were there, and she literally turned into my personal shopper.  I hope that woman works on commission, because she definitely deserves it!  We told her what was up (my losing weight and being on Nutrisystem and how I plan on losing more weight).  I went in there for a pair of jeans and some new bras.  I came out with almost a brand new wardrobe!

This is what I looked like going in:

I was comfy.  Now, here’s where I don’t see a difference, because this is the after picture.  This is one of the outfits I bought at Lane Bryant:

And here are the size differences:

In Bra Size, I went from a 44DD to a 38 F.  That’s 6 inches!!!  Though I am not sure how my cup goes up in that, but I’ll take those 6 inches!!!

In Pants, I went from a 24 jean (that’s what I was wearing in that above picture) to a 18 pants!

In Shirts, well, that sweatshirt is a 2x.  The shirt I bought was a 14/16!

I’ll be honest — I don’t remember when I’ve been this small, and this small isn’t actually very small at all.  My sister recommended going through my closet and taking out the clothes that were too big.  The part that makes me sad is that I have 3 garbage bags full of clothes now that will be heading to the attic.  I had shirts ranging from 1x – 4 x!  Why on god’s green earth did I keep them in there?  Needless to say, my closet looks a lot cleaner now!  Though I know how hoarders feel now, because it was hard to get rid of some of those clothes, and I can’t explain why.

Now, somewhere in my head, something is wacked, because everybody told me (including my husband Bill who didn’t even notice when I cut 6 inches off my hair one time) that the new clothes make me look  ton thinner.  Why can’t I see it?  That’s the part of this journey that is driving me bananas.  I mean, I was shocked when I found a pair of black pants in my closet that were a 18, and when I tried them on, they fit.  That shouldn’t surprise me, yet it does.  Though while shopping, I could hear my sister-in-law T in my head telling me that I deserved some new clothes to reward myself for all my hard work.  Hopefully, she’ll read this and approve.  :)

Well, onto this week’s update.  I thought the whole week I wasn’t going to lose anything, and well, I was wrong!  Here are my updates!

THIS WEEKS WEIGHT LOSS: 2.2
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS: 17.8

I’d love to hear all of your feedback!  I need it!

Get Up And Move!

I’ve got another crazy weekend planned! You may have all read about the craziness of last weekend and helping my mom paint, plant new plants, and rearrange her living room. We were busy, busy, busy last weekend! (Oh, I forgot to add that going to my moms from my house is a 4 hour drive too!). We took our kids to Bay Beach last weekend too! (For those who don’t know, Bay Beach is an amusement park in Green Bay. Rides cost 1 ticket to get on (each ticket is 25 cents!). There are some two ticket rides too. The new roller coaster they put in, The Zippin Pippin, is $1.00. (We wen’t on it — it’s worth a $1!).

This weekend is shaping up to be busy — just not quite as busy. Tonight, I have to go to a dinner with Bill for work. These things are always nice and well, boring. I’m hoping to get some more of my own yard work done this weekend.  I want to put a border around my front pine trees, and then add the rocks that are around the side of my house under the tree.  It isn’t like we can grow anything under those trees anyway.  However, something I’ve noticed that has happened with all of the yard work I’ve been doing — I want to be more active.  Now, I’m not saying that I am going to run out and get myself a Recumbent exercise bike or a gym quality bikes or even a Keiser indoor bike (though I could if I wanted to). Instead, it just makes me want to get out and exercise.  For me, that is a great thing since I don’t normally have any motivation to do so.  If it doesn’t rain, I’m going to paint my front porch too.  The only problem is that I can’t figure out what color to paint it!  Also, if it doesn’t rain, we are going to take the kids to be Morton Arboretum.  They have an awesome kids section there and I got a great GroupOn for it a couple of months ago.

As you can see, we have a crazy weekend scheduled.  What does your weekend look like?

Helping Out and Updating

We had an awesome weekend this weekend.  My sister and I promised my mom about 2 years ago that we would paint her living room and hallway.  This had not been done in about 30 years, so it was well overdue.  We finally had a free weekend, so off to Green Bay we went.

My sister had taped everything, so we could start first thing Saturday morning.  The weather held out for us (it was suppose to rain), so the kids could play outside.  My mom also wanted ceiling fans put into the bedrooms, so Bill took care of that.  He also replaced their outside light.  Needless to say, it was a pretty busy Saturday!  The paint color my mom chose looked brown on the paint chip, it even looked tan in the paint can.  However, once we got it on the wall, it ended up looking like the color she already had (just fresher and newer now!).  That was a tad bit disappointing.  After we were done painting (and letting it dry), Bill realized how old their outlets look.  We ran to Menards real quick and got new outlets and trim plates.  Bill hooked those up for them too!  To finish off their new living room, Kari (my sister) and I bought new curtains and a new curtain rod too.  We also rearranged their living room sofa sets. Now, they don’t have contemporary sectionals or even a sleeper sofas. Instead, they have just a plain couch, 3 chairs, and 2 endtables.  All in all, I think we were able to freshen up the room and bring it into the 21st century!

I also fixed up their flower garden.  This was a project I started last summer and half of what we planted didn’t come back this year.  I again went to Menards with my mom and we picked up some new plants.  With some help from my dad (he dug the holes), I planted to the new plants and am crossing my fingers they take this year.  It has rained since we left, so that can only help them!

That, in a nutshell, is how we spent our weekend.  How did you spend yours?
