Why do projects always take longer than they should?
I hope everyone had a relaxing Memorial weekend. Unfortunately, I did not. I started a project that should have taken me a day (or so I thought). Since we moved Will to a toddler bed, I wanted to reflect that in his room decor. At the time, it seemed like a great idea.
How hard is it to remove a wallpaper border? Extremely hard! Bill took the kids to his moms and five hours later I was done with just the border. Sigh. I still had to paint. No problems there, right? I wish. I bought Behr paint with primer in it thinking it would save me time. No such luck. After 3 coats of paint and 3 days in that room, we still aren’t done. It really could use a 4th coat, but I am so done painting. Part of the problem is that Bill picked suck a dark blue to paint it. (Sorry no pics — Will is napping right now and well, we aren’t done). We did get some shelves up. The other problem is that we made it Handy Manny themed (which Will loves). There is nothing out there to decorate with, so we are winging it right now with how to decorate the walls.
It looks nice, it’s not done, and it took twice as long as it should. Why is every project in the house a pain in the butt?

Electrolux and Global Green USA
Do you have a front load washer and dryer? I do, and I absolutely don’t know how I lived without them. A front load washer is worth every cent. I am able to wash a larger load and they clothes come out practically dry! It uses less water and less electricity too! Now, Electrolux and Kelly Ripa have teamed up together to offer you a new shade – Kelly Green. This is a limited edition washer and dryer. To quote Kelly:
I love green … the color green and the act of living green,” said Ripa. “What better place to make a simple, every day difference than in the laundry room? Kelly Green is a gorgeous shade, and just by using the new Electrolux high-efficiency washer and dryer you can save energy and use less water. How green is that?
In conjunction with the Kelly Green washer and dryer, Electrolux is also kicking off their virtual flower garden campaign. They are raising funds for Global Green USA and will donate $1 for every virtual flower planted. Also, everyone who plants a virtual flower will automatically be entered to win one of these new Kelly Green front load washer and dryer. Also, Mom Central will also be giving away one too! (I know I am just full of goodies in this post!) To enter, simply go to http://www.momcentral.com/blogs/win-a-kelly-green-electrolux-washer-a-dryer.html and (1) tell us which flower you planted on the Electrolux site and (2) share your own “laundry tips” for saving time and energy. Mom Central will pick one lucky winner in a random drawing from all entries received!
