I really do like Entrecard.  I really do.  However, some of the missteps that have occurred over are just crazy.  One of the ongoing missteps is their moderators on their forums.  This was an issue a while back before.  New forums popped up due to the censorship that a lot of the members were feeling on the Entrecard forums.  Seriously, that was how bad it got.

Now, I thought that was over and done with.  We were told that wouldn’t happen anymore and blah blah blah.  Well, I learned firsthand myself how much crap that was (I’m a little irritated . . . can you tell?)  Now, I have moderated before (I was moderator at the Izea forums over a year, so I know what a pain it can be.  However, we were never ever ever allowed to delete anything unless it was spam.)  Now, the thread in question is this one: http://entrecard.com/forums/7/15804/#p=21.  Now, they posted a question and people started responding. I happened to be one of them. And my response got deleted since he (the moderator who started the question) didn’t like the answer. He also removed the reference to another forum called Firestorm.   I’m sorry, you can’t ask a question on a public forum and then start deleting the answers you don’t like. Sorry, that is crap. The part that I especially love is that other forums are listed there. His reasoning? Firestorm and Forum Finder (which is the one I listed) are too close to what Entrecard’s forum does (huh?).  I wouldn’t be half as ticked if he didn’t leave other forums up there that do the same darn thing.  I don’t understand the double standard.  I am not one to kiss ass which is probably why my comment is gone (I’ve left two more comments questioning why — we’ll see how long those last).

Now, I don’t own either forum that got taken off the list.  I get no benefit for writing this post, besides releasing some of my anger.  I just am sick and tired of Entrecard’s double standard when it comes to their forums.  Obviously, the only way to get your posts to say is to kiss up or keep your opinions to yourself (which I would think is counterproductive on a forum).

Ever have one of those days?  I did today. Instead of my normal Tuesday routine, I got stuck doing other things I didn’t really feel like doing.  If you read my last update from when we went to the doctor’s office, Madison needs to get a hearing test done. I finally got around to calling the school district today, and what a mess.  Instead of being able just to schedule her for hearing test, they are making her go through an entire preschool screening again. Unfortunately, this means I had to prove residency once again. This is no easy task. To prove residency in my district, you have to bring in your tax bill, two utility bills, an original birth certificate, and your drivers license. Unfortunately, that isn’t always so easy to find. I spent the entire time while Madison was a preschool looking for these items.  My other problem was that the school closed at 4 PM.This normally wouldn’t be an issue except Madison had preschool until 3:30 PM. It takes me around 15 minutes to get from my house to her preschool. In theory, I should have made a back In plenty of time. However, I got stuck by two trains. I then turned on the wrong street to go to the school and got a bit turned around. What a mess!  Luckily, I got there with five minutes to spare. I literally ran into the building with the kids. Thank goodness the woman was nice, because it actually took me till five after four for me to finish all the paperwork. Seriously, there was so much paperwork it was like signing mortgage papers.  Now, I have to sit and wait for school to call me back and schedule a screening for preschool. I seriously don’t understand why they just can’t do the hearing screening like I asked. I think the lady said that testing would start November 7, so at least we don’t have to wait that long. It’s just frustrating because Madison won’t qualify for free preschool, so this is just a waste of my time.

If you have children in your house, you have dealt with diaper rash one time or another. I have never met a mom who hasn’t dealt with this issue before. Most diaper rash issues can be dealt with over the counter products like Desitin. However,no matter how much you change your child, they can still get diaper rash and get it bad.

My son is literally a pooping machine. Normally, this is not an issue. We is changed (almost constantly) and this isn’t an issue. However, when he is teething, we have a completely different story. His butt gets so red. I feel so bad for the little man. It has gotten to the point that he has gotten sores on his little behind due to the diaper rash (even though I am doing everything I should). We have had prescriptions written out for this very problem.

I just recently found out that there is a new product on the market called Vusion. It is for diaper rash that is caused by a yeast infection (not too sure how you tell that but that’s the doctor’s job. That’s what we pay them for. However, I do know that yeast is part of Will’s severe diaper rash.). It can be used on babies as little as 4 weeks and is only available by prescription. It is only to be used for 7 days and not for preventative care. I know this is something that I will bring up to my son’s doctor the next time he gets severe diaper rash to see if this will work for him. Check it out if you have a little one with diaper rash, so you can discuss it with your doctor.

I am seriously upset/angry/frustrated, and I am not sure what other emotions I am feeling either (and no this isn’t about those cicadas that have decided to leave their casings on our swing sets). Instead, this is a post about my hosting company. I have talked a lot of great things about Bluehost. They have always done right by me until now.  I sat through the CPU issues last fall that all of us Bluehost users were getting and being told by support that it was us and low and behold it wasn’t us.  It was Bluehost.

Over the last several weeks, I have been dealing with Bluehost’s ticketing system and phone support.  I have been getting CPU errors daily.  Since I monetize my blogs, it is very important that they do not go down either for 5 minutes or for 5 hours.  It is seriously frustrating.  I have gotten to the point that I can read the Bluehost Error Log and CPU exceeded logs better than their support people!  My frustration lies in that their support is a lot of times less than helpful.

I’m sorry, but I expect your phone people to know more than me.  I also expect them not to have to refer me to the ticket people who take days sometime to answer their tickets.  Also, if they don’t know what the problem really is, they shouldn’t be upselling me to the $20 a month plan.  When I ask if I’ll still get CPU errors since the problem wasn’t fixed, I don’t know isn’t the right answer.  I expect that after 3 weeks we would figure out what the problem is.  I expect your ticket people to read my prior tickets and know that what they are telling me, I ALREADY DID!  (and not close said ticket).  I expect that when you need my license to give me permission for SSH access that the uploader thing works, so your customers aren’t waiting for a week with nobody telling them that you couldn’t open the file I sent!

Granted, along the way, I actually had some extremely helpful support people who forwarded me links and documents to try.  However, my problem still isn’t fixed.  My sites are still going down daily.  At least the phone support person today was kind enough to tell me how to send in my ticket and have it escalated.  Whatever my issue is, the phone person couldn’t even access my file manager without crashing his computer.  I am running 6 WP blogs, so it isn’t like there is anything that is all that labor intensive or any special programming involved here.

I seriously could use some help here Bluehost.  I really want you to come through, but it isn’t looking promising.  I really need somebody to tell me why all my CPU errors look like this:  used  1.06 seconds of cpu time for php5 or this:  used  0.75 seconds of cpu time for /ramdisk/bin/php5  or  this:  seconds of cpu time for PROCESS : php5.  If anybody can tell me how to fix this, I would appreciate it.  In the meantime, I have started looking at other hosting companies, because I can’t let this go on to much longer.  You are costing me money.

I’ve been a bad, bad blogger.  I swear I have been trying to keep everything updated here, but I have been super busy.  Now that I have a few minutes, I will be doing a ton of posting across all five of my blogs but I may end up with five or six posts for today on this one!

Why do I keep up with this?  I love blogging.  I love being able to connect with people across the world.  I love having friends that I have  never met in person, but I know will go to the ends of the world for me.  I love that if I have a problem or an issue, and that another blogger can help.  I love that some of the hardships that I have blogged about have helped others.

Now, I do suggest getting your own domain if you ever want to do blogging for pay.  Now, if that isn’t in the cards for you, I highly recommend looking at some of the Free Blog services out there like Thoughts.com. Some things that I like about this particular service is that they allow you to decide for each post if you want it to be public, private, or only viewable by certain people. You are able to upload pictures, podcast, and videos. They even have their own community forums! I also love that they have free unlimited bandwidth. This way, if you get a lot of traffic you don’t have to worry about your site going down or getting charged for it!
