Holiday Cleanup
How do you clean up after the holidays? For us, it is a tad more interesting. Madison’s birthday was yesterday (she turned 5!), so we always have the quick cleanup that needs to be done from the time we get back from visiting Wisconsin and her birthday party. I usually get about a week if we are lucky. Since we have the basement now, Bill let me keep up the Christmasy decorations, but we did pull down the Christmas tree. I need as much room as we can get, and this is pretty much the only way I was going to get it. I figure everybody will hang out downstairs for her party just like they did for Christmas Eve. The sad thing is that we are the only one on the block who still has their outdoor lights up. Now, we don’t leave them up till June or anything, but it seems that it is kinda odd that on 8th of January that everyone has packed up everything already. Now, I’ve slacked this week, and I have to get all my cleaning done tomorrow with the kids underfoot. This should be interesting. My sister is arriving tomorrow, so its not quite the end of the world if she’s the only one who sees my non-clean house.
How do you clean up? Do you have a set plan? Do you just do a little bit each day?
I’m kinda addicted to Facebook now
I realize that title isn’t the greatest English. However, in the past couple of days, I have found myself semiaddicted to Facebook. Now, I still don’t understand it, or why I should be using it. I don’t get all those applications. That being said I ran into a bunch of people I went to high school with. It started with one of them friending me. I then started looking for other people I graduated with. It was weird, cool, and a tad freaky all at the same time. I actually had a couple of conversations with some of my old classmates too. I’ll even admit that it kinda makes me want to go to my next class reunion (shh don’t tell anyone). It’s nice to look at the pictures and see that we all have aged, gained some weight, and have some of the cutest kids ever!
Am I the only one who has gotten caught in this time suck? Why do you use Facebook?
The Altitude
I always thought altitude sickness was just kinda made up. Well, now being in Arizona, I have definitely learned different. We are on the second level of our building, so we have to walk down a flight of stairs and then walk up another flight to get to our car (it is hard to explain, but you would have to see it know what I am talking about). I will admit Bill and I are out of shape. However, we can walk up a flight of stairs (even 2) without getting winded. However, by the time we get to the top up by our car, we feel like we have had several corsets wrapped around us and tied as tight as possible. You cannot breathe. I have been so winded. The other thing we noticed (besides our ears popping all the time) is that our memory isn’t as good here and that sometime we seem to get altitude headaches. I now have an appreciation for when people talk about altitude sickness and how it effects you. It really does.
Oh yeah, I apologize to anyone who has commented and I haven’t gotten back to them. I’m on vacation.
