A Shopping I Will Go

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Can you believe that we finally I have a free weekend? I can’t. I have a breakfast I need to go to tomorrow, and then that’s it! I think we may get the kids hair cut, but that’s all we have planned! We don’t have another one of these weekends for months, so I am excited (can you tell?). That being said — we definitely need some stuff at the house, so I’ll probably spend today shopping.

One of the places I know I will stop is Kmart. Did you know they brought their BlueLight Specials? It’s awesome — though they aren’t quite as crazy as they were when we were kids (well, this is a different Kmart, so that may have something to do with it). The BlueLight specials are today only (8/15), so make sure you check them out! Some of the specials include:

  • Kids Backpacks (Athletech, Route 66 and Licensed) reg. $19.99 – Bluelight $8!
  • American Fare Vita-Water 2 for $1
  • All Patio Furniture 70% off! (+ an extra 20% off during bluelight!)
  • 70 count Notebooks – Buy 2 Get 1 Free
  • Diamond Jewelry extra 10% (Diamonds are already 70% off this week!)

On top of these great sales, they will be having at least 40 Kmart Bluelight specials for you to take advantage of.  What do you say?  Are we going shopping today? (And make sure that you followKmart on Twitter for more great deals!)Click Here

Bluelight Specials are Back!

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

This post was sponsored by Kmart. All the opinions are mine.

I remember Kmart Bluelight specials, but I haven’t seen one done there recently.  (I remember being being a kid and hearing the announcement and watching people go running for the great deals they would have.)  Until now, that is.  You definitely want to head into your local Kmart this Saturday (8/8).  The deals they are having are killer.  They include:

  • Mens Athletec basketball shorts for $3.00
  • All patio furniture 70% off regular prices
  • Womens Joe Boxer Flip Flops $4.00
  • Extra 10% of diamonds that are already 70% off
  • Filler paper 2 for $1

On top of those great deals, there will be over 40 great Bluelight Specials through the day in-store AND other great offers will also be at kmart.com this Saturday.  Personally, I am hoping to start some Christmas shopping done.  What I’d like to see on sale is some toys.  We are looking for a Tools Workbench for Will for Christmas, so help me out.  However, I plan on taking advantage on the patio furniture being on sale since our patio umbrella broke last summer, and we need a new one. Make sure you don’t miss this awesome sale and follow Kmart on Twitter for other great deals!Click Here

Back To School

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

It is hard to believe that it’s almost time for school, but we are looking at around month away!  I have a couple of high school graduation parties to still attend, and it is always fun to give my college advice.  It wasn’t that long ago Bill and I were in college.  I remember Bill eating ramen noodles to save money (ewwwww is all I have to say).  However, noodles are cheap.  Any kind of noodles will work too.  Another way to save money is buy thing like fruit and snacks on your meal plan and bring them to your room.  It’s much cheaper than eating out of vending machines.  Another way to save money is to bring your laundry home.  It’s much cheaper to do it there!

With all that being said, a great gift for a college bound student has to be gift cards.  The Sears Reloadable Gift Cards are the perfect gift.  You can get them in your local Sears and Kmart stores.  Once in school, if you want, you can reload it online.  This allows you to watch what they are spending and giving them some money to help with their home away from home.

Sears has a great campaign called Sears CampusReady to make sure you are ready for college. There are tips, advice on how to make the best with the amount of space you have in your dorm room, and even a checklist. There is even a CampusReady on Facebook that is really easy to use!   This is great way to make sure your student has everything they need!  Giftcards, checklist, supplies — what more could you ask for?

A Shopping I Will Go

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Yes, I think almost every post this week is going to be about my trip. This is the first trip I am actually getting excited about. I dreaded the trip to Las Vegas for BlogWorld, and I loved it there. I dreaded the trip to Miami, and that wasn’t too bad either. I thank you guys who told me not to feel guilty, because we are leaving the kids. I think I needed somebody to give me permission to be okay with leaving them. I feel semi-dorky though – I have been watching the virtual tour of my hotel today. I am just trying to get a feel for what to expect. It is all of seventeen degrees here and warm would be nice.

I have been checking out the weather report today, and I am still deciding if I need to find my shorts for not. Depending where you look, I am looking at lows in the 30’s and highs all the way up to 65 degrees. My big problem is that I am not sure if I will fit into any of my shorts (and where they are too). I think I will be going shopping this weekI already know where my swim suit is, so I am set with that. It is just figuring out if I need shorts that is the problem.

We are definitely packing jeans, sweatshirts, and our jackets. Who knows? I may actually start a list, so we don’t forget anything. However, anything we do forget, we can buy there.

This Week

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

We bought Madison’s new mattresses over the holiday weekend. They are getting delivered today. I went out to Kmart and bought the Tinkerbell comforter and sheet set. It is sooo cute. I also bought a couple of waterproof mattress pads. I forgot how much they cost. And I forgot how much I hate the “we’ll be there between 11 – 3″. At the time, I said it was okay. Today I realized I am not sure how to get Madison to nap if they show up after 1.

Madison caught the cold Bill and I have. She’s really congested. However, it isn’t slowing her down too much.

This weekend is Kari (my sister’s ) bachelorette party. Anybody got any suggestions for this? Let me know before Friday. I am looking for any ideas.

Holiday weeks always screw me up. Today feels like Monday, not Tuesday. Then next week is going to be all screwed up too cuz of Kari’s wedding. Bill has off Thursday, Friday, and Monday.

Ohh yeah. I forgot. My dryer crapped out yesterday. My father-in-law came over and we cleaned out all the lint (how gross!!). Hopefully the load I put in this morning actually dried (cross your fingers).

Gotta go restart “The Piglet Movie” for Madison for the (I think) 5th time today. Stay cool!
