Before And After – #NSNation Update – Week 17

If you read the post prior to this one, you will see I talked about being involved with Lands End with Swimsuit Confidence. I’ll admit it, sometimes it is hard to feel good about yourself in a swimsuit. However, as I’ve learned, we are often harder on ourselves than we are on others. I have to learn that I am never going to be that perfect airbrushed pictures we see in the magazine (and for that matter, neither are the celebrities that are in those pictures). Instead of looking at where I still think I am fat, I am going to concentrate on what I have accomplished so far. That being said, the best way is to show you. Since I’ve worked with Lands End for a while, I have a swimsuit that they sent me last year around this time. It was a 26W:

I loved that suit. That being said, I did try it on, and it’s too big this year. I ended up with this swimsuit this year:

This suit is a 18W. Now, I’ve been complaining that I can’t see a difference. Well, I can see the difference in these two photos!  I’ve even noticed that some of the new clothes I bought are getting too big on me now too!  And yes, it is still hard to put on a swimsuit and post it on the internet, but I did it anyway!

THIS WEEKS WEIGHT LOSS: 2.4 lbs
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS:  40.2 lbs

I Have Swimsuit Confidence!

On May 21, 2012 (yes, today!), women from across the country will show off their swimsuit confidence by posting a photo in a 2012 Lands’ End swimsuit. Last year, they had just under 100 women participate! This year, I am one of the women who will be participating. I am joining the editors of Self Magazine, writers from the Curvy Girl Guide (did you catch, and a group of breast cancer survivors from Beyond the Boobie Trap in this amazing movement. What a great way to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes!

You can join Lands’ End and SELF Magazine each day this week (May 21 – 25) from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. CDST and
participate in a series of National Swimsuit Confidence Week events on Twitter. Each day Lands’ End will give away 6 – $50 Lands’ End gift cards each day! Check out hashtag #confidence and @LandsEndPR, @SELFMagazine, @LEprMichele, @LEprMariella, and @LEprMolly!

So, without further ado, here’s me in my new Lands’ End swimsuit:

Lands’ End: Way to Grow Campaign and Twitter Party

As you all may know, I love Lands’ End products.  They are products I never have to wonder if my kids will somehow wreck.   The only coat my daughter has NOT managed to rip the zipper out of is her Lands End winter coast.  That is why when I heard about the “Way to Grow: Plant a Seed, Make a Difference.” campaign I knew I had to post about it.  As we approach the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, this initiative connects kids, parents and schools through gardening and teaches that even the smallest steps can make a difference.  One person can change everything.

Way to Grow: Plant a Seed, Make a Difference works like this.  Visit www.landsend.com/thehub to enter your school to win funds to support a school gardening project or science initiative. (Madison attends a very small school, so I am soooo entering this).  Submissions will be accepted from April 5, 2010, through May 14, 2010.  The other cool thing is that      during this time, Lands’ End will include a packet of 100-percent organic Russian Mammoth Sunflower seeds from Seeds of Change™ with online orders of Lands’ End Kids merchandise.  How cool is that?

If you are on Twitter, make sure you join their Twitter Party on Wednesday, April 14th from 7  – 9 om CDT with Seeds of Change, a purveyor of organic seeds and a leader in the organic food movement. The party will feature gardening tips and 20 fun giveaways including organic seed collections, gardening totes, gardening books and Lands’ End gift cards.  Make sure you use the hashtag #landsend.

Hope to see you there for such a great cause!
