This is what my mailbox now looks like after our fix. If you didn’t read that post, a snow plow hit our mailbox in the middle of the night Friday night. However, you have to have a mailbox to have your mail delivered. Since the ground is frozen here, we can’t replace the mailbox anytime soon. Here is what it looks like now:
I’ve never been a big fan of my mailbox. However, it served its purpose till last night. We woke up this morning to our mailbox laying on the ground. Since a lot of my product reviews are sent by the mail, this is a very bad, bad thing. Second problem, it snowed here last night, so the ground is frozen. We think it was hit by the snow plow in the middle of the night (it was still there at 11 pm). The beam that actually holds the mailbox is split. We had to do a horrible fix job in about 20 degree weather today. Bill took some industrial clamps and zip ties and that is the only thing that is holding the beam together. The beam also leans forward pretty bad, so we had to take stakes and pound them into the ground around the base. This looks like the worst white trash mailbox I’ve ever seen, and there is no way to fix this until the ground thaws out. I am hoping to get some pictures of my sorry looking mailbox tomorrow. If anyone has any ideas of how to get new a mailbox into the frozen ground, I am all ears.
I will say it again. I am not lucky (which I know you guys are starting to not believe me when I say this). I just found out last night that I won Elizabeth’s (Table4Five) DVD giveaway for Baby Einstein Baby’s First Sounds DVDs. I am super excited. We own a ton of Baby Einstein DVDs, and they are all awesome. Madison still likes to watch them once in a while. My mail sucks, so it’ll probably take a while to get here. I’ll be unpatiently waiting for it.
Before I leave for California to go sleep on some memory foam mattresses, I had to show you the birthday cards Madison made yesterday. The pink one is for Bill’s sister Christy. The blue one is for Bill’s brother Nick. I took a picture of them before I put them in the mail.
Aren’t these super cute? I didn’t take a picture of the insides, since you all know how to spell her name. Though she knows how to spell her name and write it without any help from me!
I leave on Wednesday for this. I am starting to get super excited. Granted, it isn’t going to be as good as going on a royal caribbean cruise. However, a couple of days of no husband and kids is a good thing, right? 
I checked the hotel out online, and it looks awesome. This whole trip just looks like it is going to be a ton of fun. I have already emailed and talked to several of the other moms who are going to be there. Everybody sounds really cool. I love that they are giving us time to blog while we are at this event. Now, do I bring my Kodak camera? LOL
