Friday, December 12th, 2008

This contest is over.  The winner is Content Pig!

Now, as many of you know, I was lucky enough to get picked as an Izea Insider.  One of my perks is that I have access to passes to conferences.  One conference that is coming up is the Affiliate Summit.  It takes place in Las Vegas from January 11 – January 13th, 2009.  I can’t go.  :(   We will be celebrating Madison’s 5th birthday, and I kind of need to be here for that.  However, I want to pass this on to one of my lucky readers, because you are all so great!

This is one of the top conference to go to.  The Affiliate Summit West Silver Pass gives you admission to the Affiliate Meet Market, Exhibit Hall, and the Affiliate Summit Social Network.  The normal cost of the Silver Pass is $349 when ordered online or $449 when you get there.  But yours will be free!

Help Is Here For That Little Red Butt

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

If you have children in your house, you have dealt with diaper rash one time or another. I have never met a mom who hasn’t dealt with this issue before. Most diaper rash issues can be dealt with over the counter products like Desitin. However,no matter how much you change your child, they can still get diaper rash and get it bad.

My son is literally a pooping machine. Normally, this is not an issue. We is changed (almost constantly) and this isn’t an issue. However, when he is teething, we have a completely different story. His butt gets so red. I feel so bad for the little man. It has gotten to the point that he has gotten sores on his little behind due to the diaper rash (even though I am doing everything I should). We have had prescriptions written out for this very problem.

I just recently found out that there is a new product on the market called Vusion. It is for diaper rash that is caused by a yeast infection (not too sure how you tell that but that’s the doctor’s job. That’s what we pay them for. However, I do know that yeast is part of Will’s severe diaper rash.). It can be used on babies as little as 4 weeks and is only available by prescription. It is only to be used for 7 days and not for preventative care. I know this is something that I will bring up to my son’s doctor the next time he gets severe diaper rash to see if this will work for him. Check it out if you have a little one with diaper rash, so you can discuss it with your doctor.

eBuffet.com

Since I haven’t been home in two days since I went to the Pampers Mommy Blogger Event, I have a ton of things I should be doing like cleaning and laundry.  However, I am doing none of those.  Instead, I am looking at hutches and other things for my kitchen (shhh, don’t tell Bill).

As many of you may know (and for those of you who do not), I have a huge kitchen.  I think it is about 15×17 or something like that.  However, my cabinets stink (to the point, I have to turn my plates sideways to get them in there), so I am always in the market for something that will make my life easier and add value to my kitchen (and make it look pretty too).

I always like to look at hutches (which eBuffet.com has), but the way my kitchen is configured, they are really hard to fit in there. I have 4 windows that make life difficult (I have an extra garden window in there too, but that doesn’t count). However, after checking out the hutches, I took a peek at the buffet furniture. I saw a ton of buffet table furniture that I would absolutely love. Here are two of my choices:

What do you think of my buffet cabinets choices? I like them both though I think I like the first one better. What I love about these cabinets the most is that they come with free shipping and a 100% satisfaction guarantee (they know the way straight to my heart). I can only imagine how much shipping these heavy items from other companies would cost! I love that if I don’t like it, I can send it back!

Now, I just have to talk Bill into remodeling the kitchen.  Anybody want to give me a hand with that?

Bathroom Vanities

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

We have remodeled one bathroom and completed designed the one downstairs. When we did so, we were in the market for a bathroom sink vanity. There are so many choices out there from contemporary bathroom vanities to double vanities. In the upstairs, we went with a a single sink vanity with a custom made granite sink. It looks awesome.  Bill is actually the one who picked it out — I would have been okay with a cheap sink.  However, I know when we go to resell our home, that will definitely be a piece that is noticed.  When people come to my house, they often mention how nice our sink and vanity are.  Downstairs, since it is such a small bathroom, we went with a very simple contemporary vanity that is very kid friendly.  However, I just came across a site called Bathroom Vanities that we should have taken a look at during these remodel projects.  They offer free shipping and are pretty competitive on their pricing.

They have some really cool vanities to pick from like this one:

Granted, with two little ones, that would not work for me, but it is cool looking.  Do not like that?  Then they 150 different kinds of bathroom vanities and linen cabinets.  Something that is a tad more kid friendly would be something like this:

Still very classy yet somewhat contemporary.  Wouldn’t you like something like this in your house?  I know I do (however,  my bathroom is way too small for this).  However, this would fit, I think:

Small, yet very pretty.  It will still a talking point too for your house!  The next time we are in the market for a sink vanity, I know one place we will defintely be checking out:  Bathroom Vanities.  How about you?  Which ones do you like?
