We took the kids last night to Disney on Ice Dare To Dream. I can definitely say it did not disappoint. Here are few pictures from our show:

Yes, it was just as fun as it looks. I love how they are able to take a story and put it on ice. This years show had Princess and The Frog, Cinderella, and Tangled. It never ceases to amaze me. The kids love it and so did Bill and I. Dare I say it, but I think Will was more excited than Madison! Here is what the kids thought:

We got to take the kids to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey presents Fully Charged last night. It was awesome. Before the show, we got to talk to the clowns and get their autographs. Will was a little weird — he’d talk to some of the clowns and not others. Madison ran from activity to activity they set up. If you watch the slideshow, you’ll see how she and her friend Eva got to join one of the circus rings and dance. They also got to jump rope there too!

As you can see, the circus was a ton of fun for the kids and the adults. I love how they reinvent the show every single year. My husband especially liked how the clowns reenacted a lot of what we had already seen in their own funny and unique way. This is what my kids thought after the show. I have to apologize, but it was super cold out, so I took this video immediately after the show was over. We were in the van and well the audio is great. The video not so much.

The really cool thing is that this circus was Madison’s friend Eva’s first time. What I learned last night was that her mom hadn’t even been to the circus either! When it was over, her mom texted me about how awesome the show was, so it’s a hit with circus newbies and circus veterans alike!

If you live in bloggingland like I do, you have heard about the dinner ConAgra did for some food bloggers.  The New York times wrote a scathing article about it (however, I have yet to see one article in the New York Times that actually talks highly of bloggers).  Basically, in New York (I think the location was their first problem.  I can see this going over way better here in Chicago), ConAgra put a dinner on at a restaurant.  They said it was a night out with a celebrity chef.  For dinner, they had lasagna.  It ended up being a Marie Callender frozen lasagna.  Once told, some of the bloggers there were mad.  In a nutshell, that’s what happened.

ConAgra invited foodie bloggers (now, technically, I could be considered a foodie blogger due to my cooking blog.  However, foodies would actually turn their nose at somebody who recommends buying a can of pasta sauce for a casserole which I do all the time.).  That is #2 where they went wrong.  The bloggers they chose weren’t a good fit.  You’ve got a busy mom blogger who has a food blog — heck yeah I’m going for a dinner.  If I’m busy growing my own organic veggies, not so much a good fit.  They also opened this up elsewhere, because people got invited from all over.  Bloggers were able to bring people and/or give away tickets too (#3 of what they did wrong.  As a blogger, I would have been a little upset to have misled my readers.  They lost control of their invite list.)  I also didn’t hear if there was any swag given away either.  They also didn’t have an alternative menu for those who didn’t eat meat.  Lastly, I can’t tell if they ask if anybody had dietary restrictions.  (I add this because on of the posts I read complained about his wife being allergic to food dye and this could have been really bad).

Now, you may be wondering why I am an expert on this.  Well, I’ve been invited to one of these dinners myself.  Last year, I had dinner at Ben Pao that really was Wanchai Ferry.  Did I throw a hissy fit on Twitter for my 25,000 followers?  Heck, no.  I actually used the coupons in my swag bag and I’ve bought Wanchai Ferry since.  I thought it was a great idea and I didn’t mind having to drive to downtown Chicago (they covered the valet parking) and getting a free dinner with my husband.  If you click the link above, you’ll find that we thought it was funny and would happily do it again.  So ConAgra, I’ll happily have you send me some dinner

Yeah, it’s been one of those days.  It is about 85 degrees in my house and the kids had doctors appointments today.  No worries though, it was just school physical time.  Madison weighed in at 60.6 pounds and she is 49 1/2 inches tall.  (We are going to Great America in a couple of weeks, so I am going to have to check out what rides this will allow her to ride.  My mom is a little worried, because Madison only has about 11 more inches to grow to be taller than her!).  This year they gave us her BMI reading which is 84%.  Healthy weight is 5%-85%, so she just made it under the wire.  However, if you’ve ever seen Madison, you’d know how thin she is, so I’m just like whatever with the BMI thing.  Will is 40.4 pounds and 42 inches tall.  His BMI was 52%.  Needless to say, we aren’t worry about the BMI.  Unfortunately, Will ended up with 2 shots.  It was that or he’d have to get 5 come kindergarten.  I choose 2 today and next year he’ll get the other 3.  Poor kid.

And that leads us to the headboards part of the title of this post.  Bill and I have been talking about when we move Will out of his toddler bed.  The first thing you have to take into account is that his room is only 9′ x 11′.  He has no closet.  I would also like him to be able to play in his room.  Of course, that does not give us a whole ton of options.  Right now, the toddler bed works.  However, if he keeps growing like a weed, it won’t!  I am thinking that headboards for full size beds or even king headboards, just aren’t going to work in his room.  The kicker is that with his crib, we actually have the full size headboard.  Honestly, I am thinking we will just have to check out moreheadboards.com and find a twin size headboard and then get him a new mattress.

How long to you wait to move your kids out of their toddler beds?  What size bed did you move them to?  What size bed would you think I should get for him considering how small that room is?
