Web Design

Monday, November 19th, 2007

As my long time reader can see, I change my theme again on this blog (I also changed my other blog and my sister’s blog too but that is another story). Seriously, with the time I ended up spending on tweaking the template I pick, I should really look into somebody doing a website design for me instead. Time is money, and I definitely have already spent more time on this web design than it would have costed me to pay someone to just make me a custom design. I am still not finished tweaking yet either. I feel like I need a sign that says “Band Head Here”.

In looking at other companies to do the grunt work for me, I came across Montreal Web Design. They specialize in seo Montreal, but will work with anyone. I was impressed that you can view their site in both French and in English (obviously I went the English route). They have some great work that you can review that they worked on. A site that I have actually reviewed in the past I saw on their portfolio:

One of the things I do remember from originally viewing the site was how professional it looked. Navigation was super easy, and it looked great! They have also worked with companies like ReMax and Curves (I just picked 2 companies that I thought everyone would know. They have a lot more listed on their site). I like that they have an seo optimization team and will help you with branding, so not only do they take care of the pretty stuff, they make your site/blog better. Many companies do not realize how important some of these things are. They also have their own hosting too if you are in the market for it.

This is truly a one stop shop for many companies out there. They really have enough services that you should be able to find one that meets your needs. I need to go see how much a custom blog domain is now.

$100 Contest

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Would can’t use a $100 right before Christmas?  I know I could!  Besides winning a $100, you can also learn quite a lot by checking out this webmaster forum.  Want to learn about templates and Google PR spankings?  This is your one stop shop.  If you want to learn more about the $100 contest, check out Nomar’s blog.  He has quite a lot of interesting information there besides the contest.

Massage

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

My sister’s best friend Brenda is a massage therapist. She is testing for her license in November. I have gotten massages from her, and she is great. When I came across, Are You a Massage Geek? I knew that this was a blog for her to check out. At some point, she wants to open her own massage business, and this is great place for her to begin her research. Will’s chiropractor is having me do some infant massage on him, and I would have loved to have take a course on it. I never know if what I am doing is really feeling good for him or not. Brenda is the one who actually told me I needed to see a chiropractor (I knew I should before, but I didn’t want to go). With the studying she has done, she knew that at least three vertebrates in my back were out of line (which explained the pins and needles I kept feeling in my hands and feet).

After reading this blog, I even have a better understanding of massage therapists. Like any business, there are so many things that you need to know and research about. This blog is a great one stop shop for those who are interested. I did not ever realize how much work and schooling is required to be a good massage therapist.
