Samsung Instinct

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Anyone who follows me on twitter knows I get a new cell phone last week.  First, I twitter that I missed the UPS truck on Thursday.  They wouldn’t come back and deliver, so I was disappointed.  Then the phone came on Friday, and I couldn’t figure out how to get the back off to put the battery in.  Then, due to some glitch in their system, I couldn’t activate my phone for 24 hours.  After all that, I was so ready not to like my new phone.

Instead, I really love it.  I have learned how to text message now (yes, I never knew how before).  I can check my email, surf the web, and even listen to the radio with my phone. I can even watch Live TV! It also takes pictures and videos. Granted, I haven’t learned how to use all these features yet. However, I plan on learning! This is one cool phone. I haven’t need a cell signal booster yet either. My favorite was that when we went to Navy pier on Sunday, it gave us voice directions. It told us what streets to turn on, and I was even able to see the traffic report! I could see on each expressway how fast everyone was going. I thought that was pretty cool. I will probably end up writing a review for the Instinct over at Lisa Reviews after I’ve had it longer than a week, but I have to admit, this is one cool phone.

Gadget Advisor

I have learned that even though I know about computers and gadgets, there is still a ton I need/want to learn.  That is where sites like Gadget Advisor come in really handy.  You can learn about the Best extensions for Firefox and the Google Cache Checker Firefox extension. There is even software reviews like this one: Blaze Media Pro review. It is nice that the posts are written in plain English, so you do not have to decipher out the techno speak.  They even have tech news that you can follow.  If you want a tech site that you can actually understand and enjoy, check out Gadget Advisor.

I’ve been busy

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

I have seriously been neglecting this blog more than I wanted to.  The last two weeks have been crazy, and there is just so much stuff I have to get done every day.  It is enough to drive me crazy some days.  That being said, I realized I have yet to write about my Pampers experience.  So, the first thing I need to do is wave hi to all the fabulous bloggers I got to meet:  Amanda (A Moms Review), Amanda (Oh, Amanda!), Christine (Boston Mamas), Erica (Yummy Mummy Club), Elizabeth (Table 4 Five), Elizabeth (Busy Mom), Heather (Lil Sugar), Isabel (Alpha Mom), Kailani (An Island Life), Karen (Thrifty Mommy), Mindy (The Mommy Blog), Romi (True Mom Confessions), and Stacy (The DeBroff DeBrief).  This group of mom bloggers was fantastic!  We all had a blast, and you all will definitely be hearing more about my trip.

Weekend Travels

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

We just got back from another weekend up in Green Bay.  I had a wedding shower on Saturday for one of my cousins who gets married in six weeks.  Everybody had a great time.  Since my parents only have dial up, I don’t bring up my laptop computer which means I am behind with both my blogs and my emails.  I am slowly but surely catching up, but I probably won’t be completely caught up till tomorrow.  I plan on going to bed soon.  However, I just love this picture.  I took it while we were at the Wildlife Sanctuary this morning (will be writing a review on it over at My Road Less Traveled By soon).  The kids loved the ducks and geese there.  We also checked out the buildings that are located there, and they had a blast.  Somehow, Bill managed to get two mosquito bites.  I think I am going to be going to bed shortly, so I’ll update some more tomorrow.

March of Dimes March For Babies

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

My sister over at Karebear Central is walking in Walk America this weekend up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Since we are in the middle of a remodeling project, the kids and I aren’t going up there. However, I would love to surprise her and help her raise money for such a great cause!

I truly believe that without the research the March Of Dimes has done, my kids would not be here. I had preterm labor issues with both of my children. If they (the doctors) wouldn’t have been able to stop it, my kids would have been born too early and probably would not have survived. My cousins two children were born extremely premature. Her daughter was only 3 lbs when born.

If you ask around your friends and family, you will be amazed at how many people you know that have benefited from the March of Dimes and their research. With that in mind, please consider donating to March of Dimes March For Babies. All those who donate will be included get a link from both me on this blog and a link from my sister on her blog. For anyone who donates $20 or more, I will also write a review about your blog (or whatever you want) over on my Lisa Reviews blog. Leave me a comment if you donate. Thanks!!!!
