“How can I say to my sons, stand up for something, fight for what you think is right, if I don’t do anything myself?”The Jeffrey Jamaleldine that you speak to today is a complete 180 from the Jeffrey Jamaleldine that you would have spoke to in the past. In 1991, Jamaleldin was living in Germany when joined in anti-American protests on Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm boulevard during Operation Desert Storm. “That was the way it was back then,” he says. He was 15 and “America was simply the enemy.” And today, Jeffery Jamaleldine is a wounded veteran of the U.S. Army. On June 6, 2005, after the terror bombing in Madrid, Spain, in the middle of the Iraq war, he showed up at the U.S. Army recruiting office in Little Rock, Arkansas, to enlist. His father, Bashir, told him at the time: “Son, this won’t be a picnic.”
On June 30, Jamaleldine was on patrol in Ramadi, Iraq. The patrol ahead of him had been ambushed by at least 70 combatants and were now under fire. During the fight, Spc. Jeffrey Jamaleldine was hit in the face by a bullet. In the end, the battle lasted into the next morning and the soldiers were able to stop the enemy from returning to Ramadi.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

Who Blew Up My Hard Drive?
All I have to say is that the last person who touched my old laptop was Bill.
For those of you who don’t know, I bought a new laptop before I went to Miami because of issues I was having. However, I haven’t had a chance to get everything off the old one yet. Bad move on my part. Now, we keep getting a weird error. From doing a search, I pretty much figured out it is the hard drive. I am too afraid of losing my data, so I am not messing around with it too much. Unfortunately, that means I have to go bring it into the shop to get it fixed. The really bad thing is that I couldn’t get the Money file to transfer over. That is bad, because it has my tax information for last year on it. I need to access this!!!! <deep breathing> Ok, my computer place rocks, so I know they’ll be able to fix it. They usually charge me less than their posted prices since this will be the 3rd time this laptop has gone into them. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Books For Charity
Would you give your birthday presents up? Ryan Skarnulis did, and he is only 9 years old. Instead of the normal over-the-top birthday party, he wanted a charity party. He set out to collect 3,285 books to donate to Reach Out and Read. I know you are all wondering why 3,285 books. According to him, “When I turn 9, that’s how many days I have been living, so that’s what I wanted to do. One book per every day of my life”. Since he made this statement to a local paper here in Illinois, he has inspired the donation of over 6,000 books.
His birthday party yielded 1,200 books in 2 hours. Banks, churches, and schools held book drives and sent the books to Ryan. Strangers left books on his doorstep. People order books from online bookstores and sent them to their house.

Reach Out and Read (ROR) is a national non-profit organization that promotes early literacy by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud in pediatric exam rooms across the nation.
This is a great cause, and I would love for this little boy to be able to collect even more books. You can donate either books or money to help. If you do donate to them, please let them know that Ryan Skarnulis and I sent you.
