Sibling and Me Class Part 3

I wrote about what happened with Madison last night at the Sibling and Me class and the aftermath.  Here’s the really weird thing.  She got up at 10 o’clock this morning.  I was awake before she was.  She went to bed around 9 last night.  Maybe she just needed sleep?

Bill and I have discussed this both last night and this morning.  I don’t think she gets that a new baby is coming.  Maybe I am wrong.  She was acting like she was completely overstimulated (which is a problem we use to have a lot when she was a baby).  I couldn’t tell you the last time she acted as crazy as she did last night.

Needless to say, we missed school this morning.  We have to leave here at 10 to get there in time.  Well, we got up at 10:04.  I think I am going to not make a big deal out of it.  We did get a great list of books to check out about a new baby coming, so maybe we will head over to the library this weekend.

Sibling and Me Class Part 2

Madison’s class was tonight. First thing I learned was that when a class is offered for 3 – 10 year olds, DONT SIGN UP A 3 YEAR OLD! It was way too old for her. Definitely did not hold her attention. Heck, the video they played didn’t hold my attention. It also was an hour and half and we ran 15 minutes over. Good class if your kid is about 5 years old. Not so good for a 3 year old. We did get to walk down to the nursery and see some babies. We also saw what the room is going to look like that I will be staying in. We diapered our doll and fed it a bottle too.

Then the weirdest thing happened. We got to the car to leave, and she cried all the way home and never really told me what her problem was. The only thing I caught between the screams was that she wanted a dog (have no idea where that came from). We got home, and she completely fell apart. She screamed when Bill was trying to figure out what her problem was. She screamed even harder when he tried to rock her to get her to calm down. It has been a while since she’s gotten overstimulated and that is what it almost looked like.

Sibling and Me Class

Madison and I are scheduled to go to a Sibling and Me class.  I am nervous.   She is only 3.  What happens when all the other kids are older?  What happens if she a brat there?  What happens if she takes her doll and throws it?

I know, I am worrying about nothing.  I think this class will be good.  However, I really wanted to do it in May, but they weren’t offering it then.  The next class isn’t until June, and I was worried that I am not going to make it to my due date.  I think this new baby will be a huge transition for her, so I hope this class makes it slightly easier.  If it doesn’t, it was only $10 anyway.
