Welcome!

My sister in law just added a niece to my family yesterday.  She was scheduled for a C-section first thing in the morning (she had to be at the hospital at 5 am).  However, they ended up having to push it back into the afternoon.  Anyway, she had Georgia at 2:48 pm yesterday.  She was 8 lbs. 2 oz. and 20 inches long.  Bill and I are going to go see the baby tonight.  We wanted to give her some time to recoop, and Bill didn’t get home from work till late.  Again.

Now, if you have ever met my sister in law, you’d know she is normally tiny (yes, T you are even if you don’t believe it!).  An 8 lb. baby isn’t huge.  However, since Georgia was her second baby, you tend to get a little bigger the second time around, and T definitely looked pregnant.  I don’t know if she got any stretch marks, but I know with my kids I did.  When I was pregnant with Madison, I didn’t get them until 2 weeks before I was suppose to have her.  Needless to say, I was not happy with it.  With Will, well, we won’t even discuss it.

There are many products out there to help with stretch marks.  I consider mine badges of honor you get when you have kids (I know, just keeping telling myself that!).   When I came across All About Stretch Marks this morning, I was impressed.  They have a ton of information that I never even knew about stretch marks.  They also review several of the products on the market for stretch marks.  The key to not getting stretch marks is prevention.  They have a great list of advice that can help with not getting them.  However, as mom of two kids, you can follow that list, and you still may end up with them (see above with my pregnancy with Madison).  I don’t think there is a product on the market that will completely get rid of them.  However, there are several creams out there that can fade them, so they are less notable.  All About Stretch Marks is a great place to learn about stretch marks.  If you are looking at trying to get rid of yours, I would definitely do some reading on their site.

Sick Kids Part II

Last weekend, Will was the sick kid. This weekend it was Madison. Saturday morning she started throwing up and spent the day doing that till about 6pm Saturday night. However, I don’t think Will and Madison had the same bug. Will had it coming out the other end. He only threw up once (the rest would be classified under spit up). She was a big girl. She didn’t freak out or anything. She just did what had to be done.

Unfortunately, when this all started Saturday morning, she threw up all over my love seat. I grabbed her and ran to the bathroom. Unfortunately, when we got in there, she threw up again. I slipped on it. To save her, I did not brace my fall. I think I bruised my tail bone and possibly had a concussion. My rear still hurts today. I can tell you exactly where my tail bone, because it hurts when I walk and sit. My whole back aches. My arms and legs ache. The back of my head still hurts too.

When I went to get out of bed this morning, I couldn’t. Bill thought he would have to plug the coffee makers in to get my rear in gear. What he didn’t understand was that I really could not get out of bed. He ended up having to help me.  I ended up having to lay on my moist heating pad for about two hours.  I am hoping that I can get out of bed tomorrow.  Bill will be at work if I can’t.  I am hoping I can get in at my chiropractor’s office.

Even though all this happen, I am in good spirits.  The Packers won!!!!

Will and The Chiropractor

I wrote a couple days ago about being frustrated with the stupid GI specialist who told me babies spit up.  Well, Will has been extremely crabby and spitting up a ton (due to the acid reflux and me following the directions of the specialist to overfeed him).  I decided yesterday to call my chiropractor and see if I could get him in.  They fit him in, and it was the best thing I could have done for him.  We noticed that he keeps tilting to the right.  Well, low and behold, that is a classic sign of acid reflux.  By the time she is done treating him, we should be able to take him off the medicine.  She said his back was extremely tight.  I also have leg exercises I have to do with him every day.  I feel bad for the kid.  I guess I should have tried this sooner, but I was giving the doctors a chance to fix this.
