#KmartOutdoor Living Twitter Party

kmart outdoor living twitter party 150x150 #KmartOutdoor Living Twitter PartyI recently wrote about our bucket list for our yard. There’s a ton of work we’d like to do on top of what we’ve already done.  That’s why I am excited to tell you about Kmart’s Outdoor Living Twitter Party.  My current patio set we bought at Kmart, so I know the selection and choices you have there.  Last summer, we busted an umbrellas (thanks storms!) and picked up a replacement umbrella at Kmart for this summer season.  Several bloggers have redone their backyards, so I’ll let them tell you how great Kmart’s outdoor products are: Sheena, Katja, Crissy, Courtney and Allison.

On Thursday, May 12th (yes, that’s this Thursday!) from 9 – 10 EST, there will be an awesome Kmart Outdoor party.  This twitter party’s focus will be sharing outdoor living ideas and getting backyard entertaining tips from lifestyle and party-planning experts.  (My advice is to take in your umbrella even when it’s closed when it’s suppose to storm.  Trust me on that one!).  The hashtag for this party is #KmartOutdoor and you can win $50 and  $100 Kmart gift cards during the party!

I’ll be there!  Will you?  (If you plan on attending, please RSVP!)

Day In Review

For those of you not on Twitter, yesterday was not a good day.  Actually, we should go back to Monday.  Monday was Madison’s birthday.  Bill ended up working late, and we had some really nasty storms come through.  We had promised Madison that we were going to be going to Denny’s for her favorite:  Alien Pancakes.  However, it was storming and hailing at dinner time, so we talked her out of it.  However, I still needed to go out and get a snack for Madison’s class.  What should have been a short trip ended up taking two hours.  There is a kid in her class that is allergic to peanuts. Needless to say, I learned that almost everything has peanuts in it.  Then yesterday due to the sixty degree temperatures and constant rain our basement started flooding.  To make matters worse, our sump pump quit working too.  Being that I was here by myself, there wasn’t much I could even do about the basement.  I couldn’t leave the kids upstairs by themselves.  I called Bill, and he came home from work early.  Come to find out, the reason the sump pump quit working was that cover somehow got pushed into the float, and it wasn’t letting it kick in.  Once we took care of that, my basement started draining.  The good thing that may have come out of the basement flooding (again) was that I think Bill realizes that putting any money down there to finish it is pointless.  I am hoping we can get a chance to run up into the attic and measure tonight.  I want to call and get some estimates on how much we are talking about to go up.  We have a 1/2 story up there, so we wouldn’t be going from scratch.  I personally think it is the best way to get more space.  Plus, it would add more value to our home.

How has the last couple of days been treating you?

What are you doing November 21st?

I know that I am going to be in the theaters watching The Mist by Stephen King. I know I have told you all how much I love Stephen King. I am not sure if this is a book or not. If it is, I am not reading it, so I can truly enjoy the movie. I personally haven’t experienced anything quite as scary as the trailer for this movie looks. I do not think most people have.

However, when bad things happen and you are in a crowd, I think people’s true nature comes out. If you are a leader, it will show. If you a follower, your instinct will be to follow the leader. The nutcases tend to come out too. I am a Christian and all, but I would never call for a human sacrifice (like you see in the trailer). I personally think I would lean towards leader if I needed to be. However, you never know how you will act until the the time comes. I think the closest thing that has ever happened is when Bill, a bunch of his college friends, and I were driving several hours to a party in Campaign, IL. We were driving through really bad storms, and I made the guys pull off the expressway, because the sky was green. To me, that means tornadoes. Low and behold, we stopped and the tornado sirens were going off, because a tornado had just hit. I guess my gut was right even though none of the guys wanted to listen to me. They pulled off just to shut me up. As usual, the woman was right.
